Think I can start this regardless of the rain -  I could build the sub-assemblies   like the bottom tub with all its bits and pieces,  the top hull  and  turret, I will then  be able to support them from underneath  to prime/paint them, then attach them when thoroughly dry.

So it starts  -  first was the belly addional armour plate to help defend against IED's, this has to be bent slightly at the front to follow the slope of the bottom,  this was then glued  down,  next came the Two sides  - these simply followed some lugs and glued, then the rear plate was glued in place.

Next will be all the Thousands of parts including some PE  to go on the back plate.

Well according to the reviews on the various forums I could find them, they are current British Armor crew, So you have to decide if you want to do today's crew or say the crews of the '80's-90's cause there is a set for those as well..... Generic and they say that they can be used on any british armor so they are not specific to the Challenger.....

Then there is this set....

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/valkyrie-miniature-vm35031-british-army-tank-crew-70-s-80-s-era--1160740

Which is British tank crew, but from the 70's to 80's....

I have a little supprise  - I want to try my hand at doing a part internal  simulation   - way to hard to scratch and nothing available as an update or super detail kit,    so  what I have found is another modern AFV  kit that includes a Full intenal detail set  -  its the  Rye Field Model 1:35 M1A1 / A2  Abrams, I know they are different tanks but I am sure with having the basics for the intenal parts there I can re-work them a bit to get close to the Chally's  interior.

The other bonus I will then have the M1 kit I can build latter and in that I could show the Engine compartment as its included in the kit.

Two for One situation,😉

Hi All,   some more progress on the tub  -  firstly I fitted the rest of the iddlers/got them level and let them set, next  was the  skirt armour plate supports - same principle with these glued and ligned up.

I put it aside for an hour or so then I turned my attention to the Gas strut units  - Six on each side   these needed dressing before gluing in place, after Two units were glued inplace towards the front.

Here's the plan  (hope your sitting comfortably)  -

When I have finished the bottom hull (tub)  and weather permitting  - I will be able to venture into the garden  (how you can call a 8ft  x 12ft  a garden)  anyway  I will be able to hold tub from the inside  and using my Tamiya Surface primer rattle can, I will be able to give it a coat, it will then be put in my storage box  and locked away to de-gass.

I will then start on the details on the main top plate - this should give me some time working on this stage  before in a few days I can  take the tub out (examine it)  then if all is ok  - and if the weather gods play ball  - back outside for a coat or Two of Nato Green  (again Tamiya rattle can).

This will be my process for most of the build  - building then painting in stages.

Right  - here's my thinking  for the inside , bare with me on this  - take a deep breath  -

Both the Challenger 2  and  M1A2 Abrams  would surely share some  similar  (kind of)  electronics and instruments  inside each  interior, also both share a 120mm  breech, and the rear ammo locker can be made to look very similar  - difference in the Chally  its open with no blast doors,   I think with some careful  adjutments  by  going over my interior Chally pics, I should (might)  be able to come up with something  quite close  (well it will be locked away  and when  Two figures are standing  through the hatches  you wont be able to see a thing  (I will know its in there  though.
