Are there any YouTube videos explaining this technique?  Every time I try, a lot of paint ends up bleeding through, and I end up having to do it with a brush

Thanks

Folks,

i came to the party late, but started following this ship.

On Youtube, try Ebroin's miniatures. He's a master of masking, chipping, etc.

I've also decided to buy a new airbrush.  My budget is around $150 Canadian dollars.  Does anyone have any recomendations?

I  certainly recommend  a  Harder Steenbeck Ultra  set up  - I am still getting used to mine  but it is a great  system.

next, I will add some streaking with a light rust oil paint, and some ak streaking grime and salt streaks.  I might add some sponge chipping too.  I'm a little confused about where salt streaks rust streaks and grime streaks tend to accumulate.  Do they all accumulate all over the hull, or are there specific places on the ship where each type of streak is more common than the others?

Hard corners where things would rub or bump, such as the anchors hitting the hull, plates that would have paint worn away, that would be the chipped bits then the rust would run from them. Have a look at my Borodino or Graf Zeppelin’s rust.

I'm almost finished taping the deck, and I've also acquired a "new" airbrush.  It's a very old paasche airbrush (I believe that its from the 1970s).  I've done some testing with it, and I'm very pleased with it so far.  hopefully I'll be able to finish painting the deck soon.
