USF Confederacy 1778 by wernerweiss - FINISHED - Model Shipways - 1:64

Recommended Posts

Hello modelers,

as already mentioned in the Confederacy build log of Walrusguy (here page 7), this is not a build log but a series of pictures of my model showing the progress of the build.....

As I have now been building for a few years, I begin with the latest pictures and upload the rest time by time.....

I look forward to your questions and comments.

Greetings

Werner

Hi Werner, thank you for posting the photos here. I have been actively checking the German forum to see if you have posted updates. The 12 pounder guns look really good. Did you use the kit supplied guns? And did you make the rope yourself?

The furniture in the great cabin look amazing. Beautiful build!

I think that's a bug on the platform MSW is on. See this thread:

When I get the error I use the "Snipping Tool" and paste the snapshot. That seems to work for me.

So, after redoing the pictures as screenshots, it works.....

The pictures show the furniture in the captain´s cabin, made on a 3D-printer - in the right scale! - and painted

Very crisp work and craftsmanship! I realized the gun port lids have functioning hinges. Amazing!

Thank you!

When I was looking for functioning hinges I discovered a modeling manufacturer in Switzerland, sse the link below

https://www.mbapiro.ch/produkte_detail.php?grp_id=1&content_id=12&produkt_id=162

Regrettably the item is actually not available, and it is not very cheap.

Hello Thedosius,

thank you very much! I got the idea for the miniatur-furniture when I saw corresponding pictures of another modelbuilder....I thought it might look fine in my model and searched the net; what I found you can see in the links below

A friend of my eldest son had a 3d-printer which could make this furniture in 1:60 scale, which is not far from 1:64, so I was happy when he had them ready for painting....

Gorgeous work, Werner. The details and the decking are very crisp and tidy. Can't wait to reach there myself 😄

Hello modelers,

in the past weeks I have been busy with building, but not before today I took the latest pictures which I would like to show. The planking of the quarterdeck is finished, and the quarterdeck fittings like the speaking tube, the steering wheel, the binnacles, the coamings etc. are in progress. There is still a lot of work to do.....

Greetings

Werner

Hi Werner, she's looking really beautiful. Do you plan to rig her?

Hello Harshil,

thank you very much - no, I do not plan to rig her. Regarding rigging a ship of this type and real size I´m a bloody beginner, and I like the admiralty style.
