Optivisor Light Mod

Recommended Posts

This might be helpful to someone like myself who needs magnification plus more light for my old eyes. I couldn't find a mounted light set up I liked for an Optivisor, until I looked at my pocket Streamlight flash light I was using and had an idea......Works a treat,it is cheap and easy to mount and remove when not needed

I use mini LED keychain lights

Inexpensive and effective!  I do hope you bring this to the October conference to see how you set it up.

Thanks

Allan

No need to wait Allan. The Velcro has a sticky part which gets mounted to the visor and the clingy part which is adhered underneath the light. Light is perfectly centered and weighs next to nothing.

While we're at it, here's my version.

The light has 3 intensity settings, and the dimmest is usually adequate for my work.  It works for a couple of hours on a charge, and I have two of them, so that one is always charged up.

This particular model doesn't seem to be available on Amazon right now, but they have similar ones.

The headset is the Carson Pro Series .

I may have to try this as my eyes are getting older. However, so far I found it somewhat confusing that the light moves, when I move the head. On the other hand, I have always difficulties directing the light from the direction of view ...

  • 2 weeks later...

I have the same light as Greg.  Love it.  It has almost no weight, unlike the other light attachments I have tried.
