Completed Model Shipways projects are the Forester and the Mary Taylor. Years ago I was about half done with the Model Shipways Essex - 1799 Scale: 5/64. I attached some photos of that effort. Never finished due to life getting in the way. I recently retired so I now have more time. I found an old Essex kit on E-bay, that was surprisingly complete, and I'm now starring over again. This time I have carved out the lower deck and plan to fit it with cannons from the first model. I hope I haven't screwed it up. We'll see. I attached some beginning photos of the current project. I haven't found anyone on the forum that has completed this scale model of the Essex. Would love any completed model photos, advise or pointers as I work on this. Attached are some photos of my completed Mary Taylor as well. Looking forward to my new "retirement" activity. Once I complete this project I'm thinking about getting the Model Shipways Constitution. I completed the Revell Constitution model when I was in my 20's and would love to build a wood version now. Looking forward to participating on this forum.
