coastie96 Posted January 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 24, 2014 I am returning to ship building after having brain surgery, and cannot seem to get the hang of stroping blocks for the rigging. Can anyone please give me some suggestions for an easy way to accomplish this task. I need diagrams to follow as my short term memory seems to be lagging at this point. As part of that I show how I strop a line to blocks and then apply the seizing. Of course, there is also the use of wire for stropping. It all depends on the application. Ponto Posted April 12, 2014 Share #13 Posted April 12, 2014 Perhaps the following images help with rigging blocks and such....I put together this contraption which is a takeoff on the third hand and it helps with my rigging further up in the masting. My method is a hybrid of sorts as I don't complete the full masts off of the ship but assemble in sections on and off the vessel.
