Hello shipmates, a little extra work, not part of the instructions regarding the stanchions and handrails. I used walnut strips 2mm X 2mm to simulate wooden stanchions that I saw in other build logs of the Vespucci.

Kind Regards

Dimitris

G'day Dimitris.

Fantastic stanchions and staircase! How did you make the staircase so beautifully done on that curve?

Cheers

Greg

Good day Greg, I wish I had done it myself!!  The staircase is Laser cut part of the kit.

Cheers

Hi Dimitris

Nice work! I especially love the look of those staircases. Their design, characterised by the narrow steps at the top, increasing towards the bottom step, evokes an air of grandeur and they do look very fancy indeed. You'd almost expect to see a fancy aristocratic lady descending them with an umbrella to shield herself from the sun during a midday stroll across the deck. That'd be not too far-fetched, I guess, given the grandiose nature of the ship itself.

All the best and keep the updates coming.

Cheers

Dimitris,

Very nice work on those stanchions and rails.  I find the deck layout and furniture very interesting.  It's quite different than a typical ship-of-the-line, with the cabin extending out from beneath some deck portions.  It seems to be maybe reminiscent of a clipper ship.  ?

As always - it great to see and follow along with your progress here.

Cheers,

Hi Dimitris,

Lovely work.  She is a real beauty with so many really great details to enjoy making, including 11 lifeboats seemingly!

Should keep you busy for a week or so!  :)

Dimitris,

Looking very good.  I just realized that you're building the 1:100 and not the 1:84.  I always fail to look at the scale and get confused.  There's a 1:100 kit on eBay right now and I got all excited because it was only around $350.  I was about to pull the trigger when I saw that it wasn't the 1:84.  I already own the 1:84, but for $350 I'd buy it again!  They now dropped the price to less than $250.  That's still a good deal, but it's not the scale I want.

It doesn't help that Mantua decided to use a picture of the ship on their box that is almost identical for both.  Almost seems deceitful.

Still going to watch your build.

Take care.

Hello Shipmates, Elia-Slog-Lawrence-Edwin-Nigel-Greg-Mike-Salty dog, thank you very much for your likes, comments and also for passing by. As I said above summer has arrived....and the weather is not suitable for ship building.. :)  :)  So I don't have much to show, only some little progress on the 1st boat.. :) :)

Cheers

Dimitris

Hello Dimitris. It is a joy following your work .Your model really looks good and I can see you put a lot of

work in the detail of putting the pieces in place.

I haven't been working on models lately because of completing some major work on our property.I'm

eager to get back at the models but my real learning curve is trying to learn how to master this computer.

Cheers from Nova Scotia.
