Hi Dimitris

I'm just catching up with your latest photos of the bowsprit with the gold decorations and figure head. The portholes look great as well. Really impressive work!

As Nils has said above, the rigging's not far away. I'm looking forward to seeing the next phase.

Cheers and all the best!

Thank you Nigel for your likes and for your kind comments.. I'm thinking of fixing the bowsprit in place first with all the chains, netting and blocks ( but i have to be very careful after that with my movements... Then the stanchions and hand rails under the bowsprit.  I'm also thinking of leaving the life boats last so as to have more space when i am working at the masts and rigging.

Cheers

Hello shipmates, Edwin-David B-Nigel (UpstateNY)-Greg-Mike-Slog-Nigel (NMBROOK)-Patrick-Nils-Don , I do thank you all for your likes and nice comments! :)

I made a mistake and glued the bowsprit first.... As a result the stanchions and rails in the bowsprit area gave me a hard time to install and paint them  properly!!! :angry:It took me a little longer than I expected.. :)

Kind Regards

Dimitris

Well done now comes the fun part.  Moving your model without breaking all that work.  I forgot how many bowsprits I have had to replace over the years.  Did you dip the chains or airbrushed them?

Hello Frank, I must admit that the kind words i receive from you and from the others in this build log are very very encouraging and keeps me going.. .The first time i was involved with models in general was the bluenose build (I had a chance to learn a lot working on that build. And still consider myself as a beginer) , and i loved it... But without you guys , i don't think that the ship building would have so much fun and joy. So.. I do thank you very much for your nice comments and likes. By the way my family has 300 hundred olive trees and we make olives and oil every year for all of us.. I'm crazy about olives especially olives kalamon (City of Kalamata, Pelloponnese). Just give me your address and I will be happy to send you some... :) :)

Kind Regards

Dimitris

Hi Dimitris,

This is one of my favourite parts of a boat, how so many lines converge to the bowsprit. You are doing good.

300 hundred olive trees, that would be a lot of olives!!!

Hello Don, thank you for your kind words and for passing by!! :)  Actually 300 hundred olive trees is relatively small number to have.. It's not enough to produce and sell our olives and oil. We have it for personal consumption since we are a typical big Greek family!! :)

Hello shipmates, I  would like to ask, whether the way that i have tied the grey thread around the black rope(I don't know the term in English) seems proper since its color is different ? Should i tie  a black thread ? How they look like ? Thank you in advance!!! :) :)

Kind regards

Hi Dimitris; it is called a seizing, personally I like the contrasting colour, it makes it stand out more. If it is historically correct or not I could not say for sure, what I can say, is that it is your boat so do what pleases you.
