Really like those last two photos of ISE. How does the size of the hull compare to Yamato? Looks like a huge ship.
I was surprised at the size of my Akagi. Much larger ship than I expected. Any yes, buying directly from Japan these days can be a bargain.

If there was PE back then, I was unaware of it.

I built the 1/700 version back in my teen years. Can't remember who issued it -- probably Tamiya.

What a monster that Ise.... Japanese military had a different way to look at things. There is no equivalent on the Western side.
I cannot wait to see your progress.

Good, looks like a front row seat. I have a 1/700 Ise in the stash, but my eyesight seems to preclude my doing much with it. May end up selling it. Carl, you interested? It is a strange looking duck.

HA, I knew it, you are getting predictable!!! Love the choice of ship, Greg. I'll be enjoying this one: A carier battleship or a battlecruiser, magnificent
"I would like to do an Aircraft Carrier and I like all the underlying lattice of beams, but you pay a lot of money for a flat top."
You should buy a model kit, not the real thing ... Are you getting mean, ... start to look like a Dutchman, am I rubbing off on you ...
How about a 1/700? Same finance for the aftermarket?

My next build is the Hybrid battleship Ise. Converted in 1943/44 to a carrier ship, and half sunk in 1945 in Kure Harbour, Japan.
The class after the Fuso so there are a lot of similarities which will allow me to use the AOTS Fuso for reference.
During the build of Isuzu, I decided to do something much more complicated, lots more features. I would like to do an Aircraft Carrier and I like all the underlying lattice of beams, but you pay a lot of money for a flat top.
The Fujimi Ise offers the best of both worlds. Flight deck and cannons plus pagoda tower.
The prices and additions vary widely on this kit. You can get it for nearly $900 on Ebay!! I ended up getting it from Japan for $200 and arrived in OZ in a couple of days. Included were two separate photo etch sheets from Fujimi which seem to sell for around $100 each so I'm ahead. The Fujimi wooden deck is a bargain at $600 just for the deck. I went for the thrifty Artwox version.
I got the flyhawk upgrade, which mainly focuses on support struts, barrels and 12.7mm guns and 2D 25mm's.
The rear deck needs rails and turntables (not in any of the PE), the decks need lots of vents and other dandyfunk, and around 30 triple 25mms.
Opening the box it's fairly strait forward, but It's going to suck up a LOT of aftermarket to bring it up to a decent standard. There are some video's of her on Utube.

There has been recently many methods shown to make strops around small blocks. When rigging the guns for my Le Cerf I needed a big number of small 3 mm double blocks. For making strops around these I made this simple fixture, which fullfilled it`s task quite reasonably.
First a simple construction was made of a piece of scrap wood and 2 mm plywood. Small pieces of 1 mm and 0,6 mm iron wire were glued into the bottom of the jig, and grooves were sawn with jeweler`s saw into the plywood walls:
Pieces of 0,15 mm thread were put into the first grooves, and blocks were positioned to the jig so that the 0,6 mm wire was put through one hole of the block:
Then small pieces of 0,6 mm rigging thread were placed into the second grooves:
And then it was rotated around the block and then around the 1 mm iron wire:
And now it remained only to make a small knot between the block and the 1 mm loop using the thinner thread, and attach small blops of diluted PVA glue into both ends of the block. After the glue had dried, ends of threads were cut as near as possible of the block.....
..... and blocks were ready......
......and used for rigging the guns:

Hi guys, I find it necessary to sell off a few things I have. This item is also listed on eBay (item # 232404736558) if any one has an interest. The ebay auction will end Monday afternoon. Please go to ebay to check it out.
"I have refurbished this saw and it has made 2 cuts since then. New blades, motor, belt, extra belt, wrenches, Allen wrenches, wood sled, Miter and Rip Fence w/Bell Variable Adjusting Angle Rip Fence, all Original Manual & Parts List. This is everything you need to make anything miniature that you would need a Table Saw for. Everything you see is new (used to make 2 cuts) and what you will get. The only reason that I am selling this saw is because I need a bigger one and this is not being used. It runs like a top and with the Proxxon 36 tooth Carbide Blade will cut anything to perfection no matter how hard or small it is. These saws are becoming really hard to come by and are highly sought by model builders who demand precision and bring premium prices when one of this quality and condition come on the market. There is over $150.00 of extra accessories that are aftermarket items made for this saw. I have not seen a Bell variable rip fence in over 10 years for sale. The blade wrenches also include the star and hex wrenches for some of the other screws used in the saw's construction. There is an extra new belt and the belt on the saw is new. Bid with confidence that this is the best Dremel Saw on the market with the most accessories you will find in one place. There will be no disappointments with this baby and you can use it for years before it would need anything but dusting off. Being sold as is, with no warranties. Buyer will pay shipping as this is a bulky relatively heavy item. This is a no reserve auction with a low starting bid of only $0.99. So far the bids are very low, so I hope it goes for more.
Sorry for any inconvenience, I had to end my listing on ebay early because I had an error in the description saying I would cover the shipping which was $38.75, when I meant the buyer would pay to ship. Therefore, I'm not going to relist on ebay, but anyone interested, my asking price is $285.00 + shipping. I take all credit cards and paypal for anyone interested in buying it. I can send an invoice and you can pay from it.

Well, since there has been no interest from the Forum, I'm going to go ahead and relist this with eBay. I am waiting until 3:00 PM Pacific time to enter the listing, should there be an interest please PM me before the listing time and I then will not list it. After it's listed I'll repost the listing number here. Thanks to all that looked.

Thanks for showing some interest folks, the new ebay number for this is 232411833080. Just copy and paste or type in the number on the search box and it should show up. It also should show if you just do a search for Dremel Table Saw. The auction will end on Sunday around 4:00 PM. Current bid is $26 I certainly hope it brings more than this. There currently are 406 views and 41 people following it so I guess we'll see. Sorry I haven't been on the forum much, but my Admiral has had 4-5 strokes over the last 6 weeks and I'm spending most of my time taking care of her. I have been trying to start downsizing and converting un used items to cash to help cover a lot of unexpected expenses.
Thanks for looking,
John

Well, this turned out to be a bad idea. The saw had 658 looks, 42 watchers, 4 bidders at the last minute and sold for $125 and ebay will take 13%. I had over $350 in it, but no one was interested so I lost my a__. Oh well, that's the way things are going these days. My Admiral Diane, had another stroke last night and is back in the hospital. Anyone with any extra prayers would be appreciated.
Thanks guys,
John
