Count me in as well Kees. Love those old fishing vessels and we get some fine history about all of it to boot.

Great seeing another Dutch VOC ship being build. Good looking start Udo.

Really nice work Kevin, everything looks rather realistic already. With everything painted one may not realize it's a model when pictured close-up.

Nice looking model Denis. How many projects do you have going, looks like a dozen or so

Interesting, a glow in the dark model. Who would have ever thunk that
You gonna leave it that way or eventually paint her?

Thanks everyone for your concern. Gwen and I fared quite well, slept on and off through the night. No damage to the house or property. Yes, we lost power at the first stiff breeze. Power was restored two days later. No spoiled food. It also took the router power unit out so no computer and phone service, AT&T's idea of wireless all in one. Did not think about buying a new car charger for our new Galaxy 8 phones so we had to conserve battery power for possible emergency calls. One reason I couldn't call anyone. It took me two days to clear our yard of all the tree debris blown in and on top the roof blown in from neighbors properties. Still some stuff to take care of.
Areas just a few miles south of us like Ormond Beach and Daytona beach had a lot more damage but some by tornadoes.
So very sorry to hear about John and Diana (Texxn5). I'll try to contact you tomorrow after my semi-annual oncologist visit.
I fixed our router this afternoon and have gotten my computer back and the phone and Gwen's TV, which is very important - - - to her at least

Hoi Dave and Carl and who else may be listening in. It's Saturday evening at 2134 here in Palm Coast, Florida and all's well. No wind - yet and just a few showers with some sun peeking through. Gwen and i are all prepped to receive Irma and I'll be outside on deck shaking my fist at Irma like the flying Dutchman used to do
Tomorrow evening will be the start of some bad weather but our house is build to current code to withstand a cat 4 head on. We just had hurricane proof windows installed to relieve Gwen's fear for breaking glass.
I'll report back in shore leave when it's all over.

You are welcome Ed, just caught up with your build. I don't comment, just watch and learn. I noticed that your ratline fastening method is also employed on the Chilean four-masted bark "Esmeralda and the US Coastguard "Eagle." Interesting but logical. Saw it and made a few pics when in Quebec City in July.
Okay, I'll make one comment - beautiful work!

What kind of soldering method are using Dave? Soft solder or "hard" solder? The latter one comes in ready to use past form, just dab some on the join(s) and heat with a mini propane or butane torch. Soft solder can work good as well. Use a pencil type "iron" set to an appropriate temp and may use a heat-sink in places. I wish I lived closer by to give a hand but with some practice you can certainly produce acceptable results. So far they look okay but knowing you, you are not happy till you got what you are after. Keep plugging at it my friend.

Nice job Craig and a great investment in that tool. I may get myself one as well.

Glad you found my build log of Hr. Ms. O16 and thanks for your kind words. Right now I am waiting for the Hr. Ms. Java kit to arrive. Boris is having to get the PE redone so I am patiently being busy with other projects. Stay tuned though.
