  2. I think they are about £14 for a pair at Axminster but could be wrong, sold as Japanese bar clamps, I have also had some in my stash for some time and not used

I just purchased a new phone galaxy A70 with 32mp camera, those pictures are a bit scary I also removed all the guns from the quarterdeck as I wasn't happy with the colour, one carronade was very silvery and shiny, I reblackened them all and they are now all a similar and dark grey going on black
  5. Small update after a day in the garage, wife's away playing golf in Scotland so a whole undisturbed day was had, some more deadeyes completed
  6. And that is exactly what happened to my previous saw, a hishaki gents saw, cracked in the centre because I pushed instead of pulled at the wrong time

  12. In situ, nothing glued yet, channel needs the edges profiling and polishing
  13. Square headed nails for the channel holders Nail being held in small jewellers vice, I then square the edges with a small file And file the top flat Ready for use
  14. Carrying on with the deadeyes, I turned another piece in my makeshift lathe ie drill I then polish the end slightly domed and cut off with the saw,(New one received today, Japanese and extremely sharp quick to cut) Finished deadeye ready for drilling etc; look at that grain in the holly

  16. Thanks Keith, hes already teasing the first one we got at christmas last year. The deadeyes are going to be a bit of work i think but will ultimately look better i hope being with harder wood i can shape the eyes better but very small optivisor definately needed
  17. Thanks keith, The first one likes to sit in the garage with me now on her own chair, sleeping and watching, not sure about this one yet we will see
  18. We also have a new member of the family, second rescue cat from the rspca, one hour in and obviously feeling at home Both rag dolls apparently
