  1. Hi Hamilton, I admire your productivity (Current, Previous, Under the Bench, in Developement Builds) without compromising on quality... Hamilton's Model Ship Factory is on work...
  2. Wonderful and Vivid... As she is being build without glue, only with traditional techniques in a dockyard somewhere in Sweden...
  3. There is a shot from port side (highlighted by me) and a shot from starboard side at the photo in the last post. Now it's clear for me after seeing starboard side. Following the style of the 1/10th seems accurate... Don't change your mind :-) :-) :-)
  4. Three separate piece of thin rope wrapped three or four times around the edges and the middle of the main thick rope I think. But is it possible to hold on under such tension?
  5. Very nice as always Michael. But I did not understand how that bock has been tied around the mast.
  6. When I started to build Corel Berlin kit, by ignorance I was supposing that which part Corel supplies is in the correct proportion :-( It was a mistake. IMO, If the cost for the replacements doesn't matter, it's reasonable to follow accurate ratio... To use some 6 or 7mm tall strips is a really good idea.
  7. Hi Max, Do you think to make some modifications for adding some space for the entrance of the false lower deck on the keel frames?
  8. BTW I had thought why Hamilton who pays so attention to detail, had installed the radiant pieces on the crow nest so asymmetric. Can it be his indifference?! :-( And then I just realized today that in the plans also, these radiant pieces are asymmetric... Great replica!... I am afraid of that you will almost simulate the grains of the wood of the original Wasa :-))) Really exceptional...
  9. Hamilton, I have already to start wondering about details on the flags considering the evolution of your handwork...
  10. Even all parts are fine, day by day the details on every piece are going to be perfect. I am very curious about the final piece you will install... ;-)
  11. You had built how strong the keel, it can really resist on a single rotation point even under so much tension...
  12. I think if there had not been the accident you would find a way to rebuild some parts of the ship, some comeback as always... perfectionism...
  13. Hi Michael, I think that it's important to stretch one shroud from starboard side then one shroud from port side. If all shrouds only from one side were set at a time, some inclination of the mast to the side firstly stretched is inevitable... And 10 hours after my post I realize that I have misunderstood what you had said. It is sad to hear about the accident. (Edited)
  14. Max, You are completely right on your concern about Corel's Berlin kit. But plus, I think that the plans are not too exact on some sections. What I remember is about whales, the plane of the gun ports between whales according to the plane of the main deck. It will be well to strengthen the whole keel before planking to prevent the single planked keel from bending, no second chance to close errors. You should use your imagination power on many stages. It is possible that you shall rebuild your own, new and appropriate parts rather than using unsuitable kit parts. But it brings the pleasure at the same time, as you said... Best wishes for your pleasant struggle...
  15. Michael, I clicked on the Like button but what I liked is your kindness not the workmanship on my work... I really think to get back to Berlin. It's very fine for me to see some samples of my work on your Log. (About G-S Hypo Cement I think that it has no reputation it deserves...)
  16. Hi Michael, Many details... As I had said long time ago there is something special on your build, I don't know exactly what they are. But sure many things engulf many of us... BTW one thing I had used during my build is that to adjust the upright distance I had twisted the rope of the shroud one, two, three or four times clockwise direction or reverse. This can shorten or lengthen the rope. To twist to much should uglify the aspect of the rope.
  17. Johann, Many builds have not more details and handworks on the whole ship than your boats...
  18. Hi Michael, Excellent as always... But if the same wire will be used for all 8 shrouds, the upright space/distance between the upper and the lower deadeye of the first shroud differs from that upright space/distance of other seven shrouds. All have different upright distance from each other. On the eighth shroud the upright space will be minimum; on the whole look, it will be like a triangle, not two lines parallel each other...
  19. Today I just learned the loss of a gentle, noble and humble man. My deepest condolences to his family and his friends... And Bug, I have great respect for your kind and admirable effort.
  20. Hi Michael, Really fine work you are doing my friend. For the mouse, two years ago :-) I shared some information that I had found on the web. I don't know if it is accurate way to make a mouse. http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/1799-frigate-berlin-by-ferit-kutlu-corel-scale-140-year-1674/page-31 Post #617
  21. Michael, You are well on the way to being the honorary mentor of the Wasa Museum... :-)
