    If you are applying epoxy in your basement, be cautious about ventilation when applying and possible sources of ignition (water heater/furnace).

    Brian, while I can't help you with the right answer, in reading between the lines my sense is that you prefer the look of Fly. When I see pictures of them, I prefer the ship without the copper plating as well, but that's just personal preference. Ages of sail have a nice photo of everything that is in the Fly upgrade set and it doesn't look that costly. I don't think you can make a "wrong" decision here - anything you do, you will do well! It might be nice to see a Fly build here just because Pegasus seems to be more in vogue as of late, your build of Fly will stand out a bit! Scott

    Worldway, re ages of sail, did you factor in Canada Revenue Agency collecting tax/duty? Generally the shipper will use a courier like fedex or ups that will charge your credit card or collect from you at delivery.

    One way to get these miniature tools on Santa's radar is to add his email address to the Lee Valley email updates. The mini-tools are one of the featured items on the main website!

    Hi Pierre, look at the thread "Purchasing wood strips in North America" recently started by Worldway in this forum. I listed some vendors and contact info (which I have not used yet). Worldway used one and seems to have had a positive experience.

    I was in busybee tools in Mississauga and they gave a list of local wood suppliers. I havn't been in touch with any of them at this point, but as they are all in Southern Ontario you could ask them what they can do for you. The contact info and websites are listed below.     Hi Ken (Canute) I actually found the link to the modelshipworld site using a google search! I'm not tech savvy enough to be able to reproduce the link to the thread I unearthed but now that we've got Landlubber Mike's confirmation on this thread along with Chuck, there's no need! I see there are multiple gripper models and an additional deflector that can be added. If you go to the micro jig website you can see the options. Thanks Landlubber Mike for updating and Chuck for your comment. I think I will be picking one of these up, right after I get my Byrnes saw that is!

    Since posting I found a separate thread where it looks like Landlubber Mike gave the micro-jig gripper a thumbs up while using on his Byrnes.

    Hi Greg - I've been following along on your build for a little while. This is top notch work! I wondered what tools you use for photo-etch bending. I have some small bending pliers but wondered what else you use and find helpful? Thanks

    Well said probablynot. I will be one of those who will be embarking on a first build and plan to document my progress here. I've read through all the comments and believe that being able to share the journey of a build (with all its challenges and rewards) with this supportive and engaged on-line community is the best way to encourage individuals starting out. Let's face it, we are all geographically dispersed and it can be hard to find people locally that share this interest - so this on-line community makes this hobby so much less isolating.
