by 1944 the search light tower was replaced by radar which just looks like a large barrel. It’s referenced in one of the AWM photos.
Vossy, you may be able to source some other photos being ex RAN. I’d love to build her in the final configuration but not without a decent set of images. The AWM ones are too distant

Vossy it’s because I’ve been at work all weekend and can’t get on the tools. I’m at a stage where I need a few hours on the airbrush and I just can’t do it after work as the 445am starts are a killer.
We’ll get there.

There are lots of masts everywhere on the original photo so it probably is a parking lot.

Don't let those Canberrans fool you. All that lake is just a creek they dammed up.
Oh, and not only are we Australians the right side up compared with you, we're also half a day ahead.

And the Molongolo river gets worse when the neighbouring Megopolis of Queanbeyan’s sewerage overflows into it.

Morning from Oz. Too early for rum (though it is mother’s milk), I was once asked by a chap from Africa why Aussies only speak one language, I told him because we and the kiwis are the only ones down here.
You notice Cog learnt to speak English from a pirate, which is very impressive as I thought it would be Vikings up that ways.

I’m loving the water, it’s very much done everywhere now and you’ve got it right.

I bought the paravane winches from Hong Kong! BNA was sold out. Still waiting but they’re pretty quick really.
Poor Popeye, so many injection points. You’re better off just getting some brass or Styrene rod. Saves hours of work. Can’t do anything till next week due to work.

Nice, I did the stove funnel like the plans not the kit. It seems that came years after.

Main deck painting done, I used a Tamiya Flat frown then edged with some red brown to bring out some depth where the mats would be divided up, then a dark grey/ lighter grey for the metal bits. There is a lot of hand painting to go but I’m pretty happy with this given the size of her.
I added a Ww1 torpedo boat boat photo from a UK museum to show the old style depth charges and the colours of the matting.

Morning all, nice photos Cog! Popeye I’m going to do her ‘as built’ as I just can’t find any definitive reference for 1945, as there are a lot of versions in between.

Masking removed, pretty happy so far. Next will be the decals and I can start grunge.
