  1. It's grown some since I lived there in the early 70's. Tioga, Texas, the birthplace of Gene Autry and home of Clark's Barbecue. "see it and get bored with it" Absolutely not, never.
  2. Brian, you might be able to find a place to display the Cairo in the bustling megatropolis of Tioga.
  3. Brian, when you finally finish you could have photocopies of the images showing the internal details displayed alongside/with the Cairo. Some of my favorite remembrances of your Cairo build are the engine room with the boilers and engines.
  4. Pat, what's crazy is there is as much hidden detail as there is the obvious.
  5. Rich, welcome to MSW. Glad to have you aboard.
  6. Steve, welcome to MSW. Glad to have you aboard.
  7. Brian, fantastic and I do mean fantastic work! The bell and flag locker are super nice and the padlocks are ingenious.
  8. Your bulkhead measurement of I = 90.5mm, the plan measurement is 98mm. That's a little more than a quarter of an inch difference. Does your earlier bulkhead measurements the full width of bulkhead edge to edge? Is the 7.5mm difference in the two I measurements because of the keel width?
  9. Dave, I added up your measurements for each bulkhead and the only way the totals make sense (to me at least) is for G and H to be swapped. Or am I completely off my rocker? What does G measure on the plans?
  10. As kids we blew up more nonsense with black powder, empty Old Spice deodorant stick tubes, and a car battery. When I did my stint at Camp Lejeune AIT I loved the explosive training class and playing with C-4. One man's terrorist is another man's Marine.
  11. Alvaro, welcome to MSW. Glad to have you aboard.
  12. Bitao has a dust milling attachment that makes it blend in.
  13. What a beautiful creation, every photo is filled with wonder.
  14. Keith, sorry it didn't remove the nylon coating. The Acetone I use comes in a metal container. I know it dissolves plastic because years ago when first started doing fiberglass work and using Acetone for the first time I made the mistake of pouring Acetone in a plastic container and had the bottom immediately eaten away. Since then I've been careful when using plastic around Acetone as I've had other incidents of plastic being melted. My experience with chemicals has been OJT, using a chemical to preform a certain function but one not necessarily mentioned on the manufactures label. One time I accidentally mixed chlorine crystals and antifreeze resulting in instant flames. I say this as it's vitally important to read and follow the manufactures warnings and use at all times. Edit: I Googled what would melt/remove nylon and there are chemicals that will work but they are dangerous to work with. Keith, is removing the nylon coating windmill tilting?
