Like Roger, I thought I remembered a model in the sales photos in the link Tom posted but after carefully going through them I don't see a model. I seem to remember a model so clearly I thought maybe it was another yacht so I combed through photos and the only thing close to a model I came across was the inlaid table in Eva. Damn, I hate getting old.

Tom, due to the size and the required repetitive profile I would order the rail stanchions. I bought mine (brass) from Cornwall Model Boats in the UK but they have a $50.00 order min. I searched around to see what else was available on this side of the pond. I bet if you go through our approved vendor list and check for rail stanchions you'll find ample availability. What is the length you need? https://www.castyouranchorhobby.com/Category/stanchions_c https://www.historicships.com/product/walnut-stanchions-6mm/

Your Germania comes as close to perfect as any model i've had the pleasure to view. Keith, thank you for allowing us to journey with you on your build. I've enjoyed every post and have been inspired by all. Congratulations!

Scotty, Scotty. You missed a golden opportunity with SWMBO. You should have told her the holder required a special drill and it cost twenty bucks. "I'm sorry honey, I know I should have said something before I spent the twenty dollars but I was anxious to get the job done. Promise, it won't happen again" Going that route you'd be ahead $20.00 with the accounting department.

Tom, the ladder and door look great. I think another ladder is required not only for symmetry but mainly to replicate the orderly flow of foot traffic especially during the heat of battle. To my way of thinking it seems only commonsense that any elevation requiring a ladder to gain access would have been built in pairs, one for up and one for down.

Joggling planks

CH, this is video is of the Tally Ho getting her deck planks. Watching Leo and crew work on all aspects of rebuilding the Tally Ho is instructional. -
Really nice work, Eberhard. The jolly boat is a little beauty, I look forward seeing her in her slings aboard the Wespe.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
