  1. @FrankWouts @James G @jfhealey Yes, it's the 3 darker planks, they've been cut for over a year and just sitting on a shelf, so I think they've just mellowed. That said, I have decided to remove them and replace them with newly ripped stock. I just hope I can get them out without doing damage to the surrounding decking! Frank, it shows in your hull planking that you have been diligent and patient, as it looks absolutely beautiful. Between you and Glenn(glbarlow), you are setting a standard 😊
  2. Another round of planking finished. the two hook planks went a lot easier this time around. I'm entirely sure wether I'm going to leave those darker planks in or change them. They were a few of the original strips I cut for the hull, They don't look that dark after sanding. so a coat of WOP was applied and I really don't like them, next time I've got time on Winnie I shall remove and replace with newer stock. Thanks for all the likes and comments, and for calling in. Cheers
  3. Looks great Andy, the black is striking as you say. A good looking aircraft.
  4. Jose, Welcome to MSW
  5. A really beautiful looking fishing boat! The detail you've added to it, has lifted it to another level! Very nicely done Andrew.
  6. And the added bonus is, if you don't like the look of your scratch parts, there is always the safety net of Chuck's amazing laser cut parts!! Your bulkheads and former do look excellent, at first glance I thought you'd gone and purchased the bulkhead package! Very nice work😉
  7. Thank you! As to removing planks I'm not happy with, it's getting easier to make that decision! And after all I'm going to have to look at Winnie for a long, long time yet.😊
  8. After a several hours work, I've completed the starboard side of the deck. the hooked planks were a real pain to do, the one at the stern only took 2 trys, whilst the bow one fed the waste bin, with a satisfactory version only 6 or 7 attempt. it will need a damn good sanding thanks to all who've taken time to comment, look in or hit the thumbs up. Cheers

  11. Wow! Very, very nice Mike. The display with the maintenance crew is perfect 👌
  12. I like these whaleboats, looks like you've made a good start, despite having little problems to overcome! RE wavy plans: give them a once over with the Admirals iron, it works for me to flatten creases in folded plans/drawings.
  13. This week's efforts were lay some planks, then take some off The first tabbed planked was removed as I was not entirely happy, I'd been looking at it and the more I looked the less I liked it! Two planks at the bow also had to come off, they weren't looking good either. with these redone and fitted I'm slowly inching my way towards the bulwarks. I'm happy with the fit of the tabbed ones around the coamings now and hopefully will make some better progress this weekend. I appreciate all the comments, likes and visits, so thanks to everyone. Cheers
  14. A little update in words but a big step forward with the deck for me! The first tabbed planked done (on the third attempt). Onwards to the next one. Thanks for the likes, comments and having a look. Cheers
  15. Congratulations on finishing Winnie. She looks great and the crew put that bit extra to the gundeck!
  16. I shall borrow then stern cover idea if you don't mind! Your Winnie is looking good!
