  1. A sterling job sir! Your patience pays off in dividends. I shall be referring to this post when I do my centreline planking.
  2. There was a film from the 70s with John Wayne about him I think
  3. bienvenue to MSW
  4. My thoughts exactly OC, S.I.G Interesting looking project Craig, I'm in.
  5. Thank you Andrew, Glenn and Fred. I'd like to keep the natural look on the panelling, so just a couple coats of WOP.
  6. Who's going to know🤫 Nice compromise though, Sam! The tarpaulins look good.
  7. I'm watching this, as it will be interesting to see all the PE work, something I've only done a tiny amount of. It looks very neat and tidy!
  8. Superb sail work!! I do like your idea of a patch and colour fade on the mainsail, I think it will give it a hard worked appearance to an obviously hard worked fishing boat!😉
  9. Thank you Andrew, kind of you to say, much of the credit for them must go to Chuck though, as his laser cut parts are fantastic, all I did was put them together 😊
  10. Good morning, I managed a couple of hours last night. I gave all the coamings the first coat of black, and then returned to the bulwarks. The starboard side deck clamp was glued on after much tweaking of its position. The aftmost notch being just above the window head. Next was a dry fit of the cabin panels, with my fingers crossed, that my initial measuring when framing the gunports, so long ago, was something close. I was dreading that they'd be so far out that I'd be unable to use the very nice panels. Happily, with a touch of sanding here and there, it was OK. These were then permanently fixed. There is still lots to do, before getting down to the deck. Thanks for all the likes, comments and dropping by for a look. Cheers
  11. Plodding on with the bulwarks I realised when I reached the bow that I still hadn't fitted the bollards, so the two I'd decided were the best of many I'd made were duly glued into place I'm not too bothered about the glue stains on the lower two planks as there is the second layer to fit. Still have to do it all again on the opposite side. Thank you all for your comments, visiting and the thumbs up. Cheers
  12. Paul and welcome to MSW. Good to see you're not undercover and taking on the Winchelsea group build!
  13. Tom and welcome to MSW
  14. Mark and welcome to MSW
  15. Superbly done Patrick, watching this build come to fruition was very enjoyable and educating, thanks.
  16. The bulwark internal planking has got me pulling what's left of my hair out! because of the tumblehome it's like trying to plank virtually upside down. But I'm slowly progressing, although I shall be glad when it's done. I shall put some photos up when it is a bit tidier. Thanks once again for your comments, likes and looking in. Cheers
  17. welcome to MSW. Good looking first model! Great work!
  18. Welcome to the group Jim, this build is a great learning curve, just take things nice and slow. I also built my very first wooden boat in 2019, with a couple others under my belt since then. You're in good company here with some good logs to check. Good luck and happy building.
  19. Sorry to hear of the crash, but glad you're getting fixed quickly! Will they use metal pins and plates or wood and fabric 🤔😊😇
  20. I'm in, hammock slung and settling in for the long haul. Nice start, will you sand it lightly when built, as that will hide minor imperfections in the stones.
  21. Thanks Glenn, with the coamings all I've done is remove the char. I'm going to start planking the bulwarks next, once I've got some more strips cut. I appreciate all the likes, comments and visits. Cheers
