I've had to stop the one plank at a time method I was using and address all those tricky cuts, twists, curves and bends at the stern

Ten planks to go. You veterans know how tedious planking can be, so I am showing one plank at a time for any newby's looking in so they understand the concept of each plank has to be treated like it's its own model with all the twists, bends and tapers involved. It is very rewarding when you can hold that hull with all planks installed.

I hope your camping trip to the South of France was very enjoyable. We enjoyed meeting you very much.

14 planks to go! Boy...is there a lot of bending, twisting and tapering going on here. I can't imagine how the real boat builders managed? Filling and painting seems to be an easier way, but I chose this path to get the natural wood instead of a painted finish

Shipyard will be open as soon as I do my laundry and unpack. How great is MSW! Anja & Sjors traveled all the way to downtown Amsterdam so we could finally meet face to face after all these years of chatting on MSW. We were going visit The Maritime Museum, but my flight got in too late, so we just went to dinner together. Anja & Sjors are camping in the south of France right now.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
