    Thank goodness, Frank. You are human after all. I have been discovering glued and pinned errors that can't be fixed since I started building model boats. It's good to have an esteemed builder in your class as a member of our can't-fix-it club. Your work is magnificent!

    Each month you stay with this hobby, your stash of tools will increase. There's is always a better tool. You start off with a box cutter and tweezer but the end is never in sight. Just ask the wife of a model ship builder. Good luck!

    Most of the various immigrant groups had their own set of assimilation problems. The Italians, The Jews, etc. It all added up to making Americans a tough breed. Let's hope we can still remain as tough as these past immigrants were. Thanks for building this model, Frank. It is a great model. but it also teaches us a good history lesson.

    The trip certainly wasn't for sissies! The end result was America got a solid, tough breed to help her flourish.

    Frank, You said that the poverty stricken passengers had to bring their own food for the entire voyage. How did they cook that food? I'm sure the ship's captain forbid private fires aboard.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
