  1. You once more proved how important stocktaking is before starting your built. Hope you will have your missing parts soon. Regards, John
  2. Yes, I have seen that. Really weird. The weekend paper reported that there has been made an emergency call that a car was hitting in the water. Afterall the firefighting team discovered that someone not knowing the splash tour made this call seeing the bus hitting in the water. Regards. John
  3. Would you please be so kind to reserve a royal suite for me to attend your built. Trust champagne breakfast is included. Regards John
  4. You're right Adrieke, will transform the KoM into a ferry, details to follow. Unfortunately Sjors lost control and see what happened ! untitled.bmp
  5. Thank you Sjors, will keep in mind to provide an easy entrence to the wheelhouse (maybe a chairlift will be convenient). Luckily you didnot notice that on the last picture the wheelhouse was standing on the roof . Regards, John
  6. Very nice details and scientific approach on the draft scale. Noted you had 30 cm snow, thats a real white easter ! Regards, John
  7. Finished the walls of the wheelhouse. Made the lines in the windows with a permanent marker (CD pen). So leaving now the ceiling and the decals on the roof. Regards, John
  8. Thanks Wim, I am aware of that, but since I decided to plank the wheelhouse inside as well it looks more convenient to finish the walls and windows first before placing the wheel. No stove needed, underfloor heating is provided in the wheelhouse. Regards, JOhn
  9. I am not sure Sjors, but trust that you will correct me when a publish the pictures after having finished the wheelhouse . Regards, John
  10. Again a great job Sjors. It looks a very delicate job. Regards, John
  11. Adrieke, doesnot look bad at all. Of Course you are designing now your own "Adrieking of the Mississippi". Maybe it is an idea to glue two or three thin horizontal strokes of dark wood spreaded vertically on the doors, than they are not looking that massive. John
  12. Alex, congratulations with your fine built. Nice work and thanks for the pictures. John
  13. Built the wheelhouse and have planked the inner- and outerside. Now will start with the helm, windowframes, ceiling and decals and so on. Regards, John
  14. Happy easter Adrieke, am ready to collect my price Have not started to look at the railings and whether or not to make holes to have one dowel for the three decks. Luckily with a wooden built mistakes can be restored, so think you do not really worry about the holes in the front. Have fun these days. John
  15. Goodmorning mr Electrician, do you mind to tell the outcome of the number of window panes. Did I won the white Mercedes Cabriolet indeed by giving the right answer ? John
  16. Peter, The lines of the zeeschouw are very nice. Like this built and will follow with interest. Regards, John
  17. Correct Barth, if all suits perfect there is a lot of challenge lost. I was not aware you are a skilled modeler. My remarks are intended to be of help to beginners, since as said the first comments got lost on the crash of MSW 1. Have fun, John
  18. Barth, by the way, congratulations with your birthday and retirement (I suppose). The most important lesson I learned is not to believe the instructions before having carefully checked whether they are correct. Regards, John
  19. Hi Barth, wish you a lot of fun with your build. Due to the fact that the comments of the earlier stage of my log was lost following the crash of MSW 1, I intended to make a list of deficiencies / defects / modifications at the end of my built, to clarify the pictures. Maybe you find it helpful if I publish them now. If incorrect/incomplete I am sure Adrieke will comment on it. So here we go: 1. Walnut veneers, there should be 30 of them 0.6x6x60, however the kit supplied 30 pieces 0.6x5x60, so there is a shortage of about 10 veneers. 2. Slots of the boilerroom differs 3 mm with the walls. Adrieke adjusted the slots, I extended the walls. Both ways are suitable. 3. Door frames of the machineroom are on the parts list Sapelli 1x3x25, this has to be 1x4x25 and for the boilerroom lintels1x4x35 4. The piece of wood to construct the wave catcher should be Sapelli 1.5x5, supplied in the kit is 2x5. Both Adrieke and me didnot succeed to bend this in the right shape. The wood simply breaks. Adrieke used baswood and stainted it, I bought Sapelli 1.5x5, spilled a lot but succeeded at last. 5. Doors of the boiler room: I was not able to create them swinging. Used for the door frames (nbrs 49 and 50) walnut 0.6 mm and as pin to the hinges brass wire 0.3 mm instead of the nails 0.8 mm. As far as I know, Adrieke made them as specified. 6. Stable bars/box closing bars according to the parts list 1.5x5x85, which is out of proportion. This should be 1.5x3x90, the bar supports should be 3.5x5x8. 7. Second deck stateroom, doors are too tall and windows too small to fit in the walls. You can see in our build logs how we dealt with this. 8. Placed the second deck stack gratings in frames of mahogany/sapelli 2x3 As from this point the modifications/observations/comments can be found in the build logs as usual. Regards, John
  20. Sjors, she's looking wonderfull. Regards, John
