Congratulations Spyglass It is indeed Archangel, a Greek Perama. She was especially outfitted for underwater archeological work and was based in Greece. http://www.samlow.com/TSG.htm It is now your turn to surprise us and send us on a ship chase. Take care, Anja

Hello Gyula, It's great you are building the Dutch flagship Eendracht (Eendragt). But I want to ask you something if I may. What is your source or reference to draw the plans to build this ship? On The VOC site I couldn't find the Eendracht from 1666. As far as I know the Eendracht exploded during a battle with the Royal Charles in the Battle of Lowestoft on June 13, 1665. The explosion killed the admiral and all but 5 of the crew. I wish you good luck building the Eendracht. I will follow your build with great interest. Happy modeling and take care, Anja

Hello CaptainSteve, I think that's a great idea. I've asked our Moderator Mark if he would put the rules of the game on top of the page. Take care, Anja PS- As for a tip ..... Look at what Spyglass wrote in his reply. Good luck!

Because we have two new followers for this game ..... CaptainSteve and Neill, I permitted myself to post the next ship. Just to get the game started again. Here is my contribution. Enjoy the search for the name. Take care, Anja

Hello Captain Steve, If we follow the rule of the game, it's RMS's turn. Hello Neill, I think that's cheating as well and that's not cool. Take care, Anja

Hello Jim, Thanks for stopping by. I use mine most of the time as well, and although I love my Ipad, it has its limitations. But you will catch up, just take your time. Take care, Anja

Hello Joshukr, Bodo & Alex, Thank you all for your kind words and the compliments. It is most appreciated. @ Alex, I just had a look at your Half Moon. She is really a beauty. You did a great job. Congratulations. I hope mine will turn out just as beautiful as yours. And as for changing the bow ..... That plan is still in my head. I want to change it into the bow of the replica or the one shown in the Marine gallery. The picture is on page two of my log. But maybe that will prove to be impossible. So I have a plan B, as you call it. But I haven't quite worked it out yet. Thank you all for looking in at my build and take care, Anja

Hello Jim, Your riverboat is looking great. It's a pity you lost your log. The comments and the dialogues make a build lively. But I'm glad you still have some pictures to share. The metal you use for making jewelry is a great choice. It's nice to work with, easy to handle and not expensive. But what did I see in on of the pictures ..... A glass of wine? Be careful not to knock down the glass while building ..... otherwise the ship will be christened earlier than intended. Luckely the tissues are at hand. Take care, Anja

Hello Dražen, Jan is welcoming you back. So somehow I missed this one on the older version of MSW. It would be great to see your build of 'De Zeven Provinciën'. It's indeed your choice. A complete log of your work for over two years may a little to much and will take a lot of time. But please do post the pictures. Thank you for sharing and reposting. I will follow your build with interest. Take care, Anja- 487 replies

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
