All eight sheaves finished, started with mounting them , and - WRONG OPOSITE ANGLE OF SHEAVES ON BULLWARK. Upper top of sheaves turned to stern ?!?! Nenad, what are you thinking of ? Not big deal, little putty, and wrong drilled holes are fixed, and mounting will folow next time Here is "how to" part, if somebody is interested General notice - work only with small speed of Dremell. It goes slowly, but much precise with full control, and without danger to launch sheave somewhere Little hole 0,5 mm is first step Turn piece vertical, and with same tool, slowly widening it to down, cut whole to down. Work on both sides if strip at same time Do not cut piece still. If,you do, it will be very hard to hold piece and to control it. Change tool, and slowly fit thicknes and round corners Change tool again, and now slowly cut little "trench" enough deep that you can separate piece by light moving left-right Use precise and strong pean or something, change tool again, and slowly fit other two angles and thickness After a while, there are all eight And you are ready to make some new mistake- 4,152 replies

Nice work, my friend. Clean and precise. A little drop of gold color in black will give metalic shine on hinges, if you like this Almost forget, I own you something ... Recipe for "hot brandy". ( Central part of Serbia is called Shumadia, and this beverage is called Shumadia tea In vial 2 deciliter put 3 teaspoons of sugar and heat on a low flame until the sugar is dissolved. When the sugar begins to dark (caramelized), add 1 deciliter plum brandy ( be carefull) , heighten the fire and boil until hardened caramel is completely dissolved. Then add 1 deciliter of water and continue cooking until it boils again when the beverage is ready. Drink hot And feel hot Be carefull drinking - it is more stronger than it seems. The ratio may be varied depending on the taste. ( stronger or weaker, more or less suggar ...)

One mystery resolved - light holders. I think that this lights are not standard sail ship fittings, and their purpose is only for light effects in dry dock, stern ornament to be seen in night. So, I think that those lights have not to be implemented on ship model But, brackets - I will make them ( my over detailing plan ) Other mystery - emergency steering or pipes - still not resolved- 4,152 replies

Thank you Mark, I just visited linked page. Very useful information and good lesson for nautical dummy as I am In mean time I found one drawing and one photo ... Considering that in day of sails, life often was in danger, it is quite sure that naval architects just could not have in mind all possible situations which can happen far in ocean, and there sure were a lot of improvisations, without strict rules, the truth is probably somewhere there, between or around- 4,152 replies

Hello Matt That was my first idea, but angle and position toward rounded rails is not right. And it seem to be so thin for flag purpose.- 4,152 replies

After "having fun" with some kid's issues, going to Novi Sad to bring some stuff to Hothead, went home Attorney strike continues (50th day), and today our minister on national TV news at 20:00 h local time said that all attorneys are connected to organized criminal .... all 10.000 Serbian attorneys ... I stay frozen and speechless ... and angry to the heaven. Just can not believe what he said ?!?!? Such a attitude was not presented public never in history, even from Stalin, Hitler, Saddam .... If you do not believe, please read Serbian news in English... Pissed off went to my drug to try to calm down ... to try to make some progress on Her Majesty This is next ( I do not know name and purpose of this) In my scale, veeery very very small Several attempts ... it is not necessary to mention that four times this little parts disappear somewhere under work bench ... and it was more easy to make new instead to try to find piece 1x2 mm on floor ... And after painting ... Not bad After spending 3 hours in making and losing this beats , said to me, that is enough for today. Going upstairs to the dark reality ...- 4,152 replies

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
