Ponto reacted to Tim Curtis in Scottish Maid by Tim Curtis - FINISHED - Artesania Latina - Scale 1:50
Slowly progressing to finish line.
I created a Red Ensign on 50gsm tracing paper...two sheets laminated together with CA, with ensign printed on each, on my home printer.
Probably a bit large....but I like it that way.
Then added rope trim using 0.5mm thread.
Furls are quite easy to form without any special treatment.
Happy with result. Photos of it temporarily attached to model.

Thank you Michael, Mike and who liked...
A small update.
I do not know if I've done the right thing about the ropes of the anchors but there isn't any guide on the plans, in fact there isn't any rope in this area... It's my decision, right or wrong... :-/
Grating is now on its own place...
And there are somewhere some few blocks fixed on the masts...

Thank you for kind words and likes...
Just a small essay...
( I think that the result is satisfying )
(Diagonal cut of the two edges of the rope after a small drop of CA is important)

Ponto got a reaction from popeye the sailor in La Renommèe by Landlubber Mike - Euromodel - Scale 1:70
Mike, I admire your tenacity with the questions surrounding the history of this vessel......I just stumbled across this log and your efforts are to be applauded. Looks like I've been out of the loop for a while but it's nice to see someone jump into the fray with another Euromodel kit. I agree with your commentary over the quality as well as the shortcomings offered by the Le Renommee kit and look forward to future collaboration as your build progresses.

Ponto reacted to michel saunier in SOLEIL ROYAL 1669 by michel saunier
Let us now turn to the second and third bridges. We will always find the same basic structure of the framework. The arrangements differ as we shall see by their wealth.
The third bridge will be visible in part because it is masked by the front and back fellows.
It has a peculiarity that are the flats of the Admiral. The latter contained an unprecedented luxury for the period of painted decors, precious furniture, carpets and a parquet flooring plated on the edges of the bridge.
The structure includes a series of gratings to allow ventilation of previous bridges (such as the second bridge). Indeed during the battles, the firing of the guns emitted an intense smoke that it was necessary to be able to evacuate.
The leases you see above this bridge are those sketched out by the fellows and the poop.
The guns are set up and equipped with their hoists, tacks, braches. Through the partial opening of the bridge one can see the arms of the great capstan. The masts are fictitious at the moment.
Photos of details show these guns to post.
Here are the amenities of the Admiral's apartments on starboard
Entrance wall from the bridge with its wrought doors

The large room (14m x 9m) with its walls worked, the chests, the paintings (I did not reproduce those original!)

Ponto reacted to RGL in RKR Varyag by RGL - FINISHED - Trumpeter - 1/350 - PLASTIC - Slava-class cruiser
The lower hull is now weathered, I’m yet to add a few bits of rust here and there, but a light overspray of grey grunge, with dilute black on the bottom over that and a ring or green Alge around the sides. I just feel it looks less like a toy (which it is really I can just afford to spend more on one) and more like a replica.
