Thanks for the many LIKES. The bowsprit shrouds and the preventer-bobstay with chain have been completet in the meantime. The bowsprit shrouds with eye splices, the bobstays and the preventer-bobstay with chain were installed so far. The lashings are only made firm if everything fits. The bobstays are covered with leather. The conclusion of the leather coats was secured with a closed band.

For the bowsprit shrouds, thimbles must be spliced in eyes. Here are the first and then the second attempt. The rope is in the original 43 mm thick, in the scale 1:48, however, 0.9 mm. Look at the pictures: First attempt: Second attempt:

@Erebus and Terror Hi, thank you for your positive feedback. It´s real goatskin, which I bougt on the internet. Since this leather is much too thick for this use, I have split it with a simple device. You can do that here see: LINK

Hi Rob, I wish you a happy Easter and all the others. Hopefully we all have some relaxing days with nice weather. Here is a quick update to the construction report: The strop for the preventer bobstay is covered with real leather. The leather has a thickness of 0,2 mm, self-split.

The construction report is continued with the rigging of the bowsprit. It starts with the jib boom footropes. The jib boom footropes, usually fitted in pairs. They were secured to the bowsprit cap. Here are some pictures:

Thank you Alexander, for your positive response. And here it goes on with small steps: The ropes for the boomkin shrouds were served and the other part prepared. The first boomkin shroud was set and the shoulder block at the end of the boomkin was attached.

Thank you for your interest and nice comments. That pleases me very much. This is how it continues: For the boomkins I made the shoulder blocks. In the original, these blocks were 27.1 cm long.
