  1. Very nice Nigel, very nice, indeed! Well done and I'm looking forward to seeing the cannons coming together. Cheers Patrick
  2. Hi everyone and many, many thanks for your best wishes. Thanks especially to Michael, Crackers, Greg and Greg (DVM27), for your recent messages of support! Well, I'm back!!! Got discharged a couple of hours ago. The surgeon found even more of the little buggers (which didn't appear on the CAT Scans or X-rays) and he was able to get rid of all of them. Thank God. Incidentally, Greg's comment about the pain being worse than childbirth was verified by the nurse who wheeled me into the operating room. She said that she felt for me because the pain was indeed worse than childbirth! How did she know? Well, she was pregnant at the same time as having kidney stones!!! If anyone could verify such a comparative statement, I reckon she was uniquely qualified to do so. Anyhow, the recovery process has started and I hope to be back on deck in a few days. Thanks everyone for all of your support and best wishes. Patrick
  3. Hey George Ain't nothing wrong with a pun. T'was a good'un! Thanks for the best wishes. Cheers Patrick
  4. Hi Girgio Wow, what a beautiful job you've done so far. She's looking brilliant. If it's help you wanted, you've definitely come to the right place! Cheers and pls put me down as a follower. Cheers Patrick
  5. Thanks Mark. ...at least, the hospital food has won awards for its quality. Something to look forward to, I guess.
  6. Hi Mick, Denis, Nils, George and Frank Thank you all, for your best wishes! Greatly appreciated. All the best Patrick
  7. Thanks. Most likely I'll have surgery tomorrow where they'll go up the "what's it" and grab it. I don't think I'll be wanting the video of that!
  8. Thanks Ben! The ambulance was big inside (obviously, I guess), but noisy as well. There was a cupboard lid that kept opening and closing each time we went over a bump in the road. Strangely enough, I was in such bad shape that I kept trying to fall asleep, thus ignoring the paramedic who was desperately asking me questions to keep me awake. On quite a few occasions, he gave me this horrific jab in the neck with his thumb and forefinger. It did the trick, because I woke up with a jolt each time, only to fall asleep a short while later. I can't thank him enough because he knew what he was doing and got me to hospital safe and sound. Cheers Patrick
  9. Congratulations Dave. A full speedy recovery is all that anyone can ever wish for. Nicely done.
  10. Thanks, Jond...not exactly the "elite club", I would normally aspire to, but, sometimes we just join these clubs without realising the consequences. You definitely have my sympathies as well. Three times is not fun! All the best Patrick
  11. Hi David, Greg, Mike, Dave, Denis, Mark and Frank Thank you for your best wishes! They all mean heaps to me. I can't believe how painful these little buggers are. My wife had quite a shock, because only 5 to 10 minutes after posting the photos of Magellan, I was doubled up on the ensuite floor, vomit pouring from mouth and 30 minutes later the Ambulance arrived. Neither of us had any warning or prior symptoms. It was that quick! Anyhow, all the best, everyone and thanks. Cheers Patrick
  12. Thanks Michael! I reckon the hull's not looking too bad either. I can't wait to get back to the boat, once these little buggers are gone.
  13. Hi George Thanks for the best wishes. Doctor's orders are lots of water and lots of drugs! Then it's a waiting game... Cheers and all the best. Patrick
  14. Nice job, Dimitris. The beauty of scratch building, is that you can get it exactly the way you want it, so the extra effort is definitely worthwhile.
  15. Thanks Nigel and Dimitris!!! A very big thanks to all the Ambos and hospital staff. I can't thank them enough!
  16. Hi everyone Thanks heaps for all of your comments and Likes, especially to Ben for his professional expertise as a naval architect. Unfortunately, Father Xmas brought me some very unwelcome early Christmas gifts shortly after I posted the photos above. Kidney Stones and my very first ride in an Ambulance to the Emergency Dept! I got discharged a few hours ago. What fun. My shipyard may slow down a bit whilst I deal with them, so please bear with me. All the best to you all! Patrick
  17. Hi everyone Many thanks for all of your comments and Likes! Greatly appreciated! Tonight, I've continued to work on the hull...more sanding, more puttying, more shaping, etc, etc, etc. I hope I've been true to Ben's suggestions about the flare in the bow and the overall underwater's shape. If not, it's not too late to still work on it. Anyhow, here's the results! Cheers and thanks Patrick Sent from my iPad
