    Old Collingwood,

here are a few pictures of the two Mosquitoes that were on display (and flying) at the past 2019 Oshkosh airshow. An incredible machine and so elegant in flight:

Those are Gorgeous pics  - Thank you so much  Yves,    yep  my late farther who used to work on them as well as  others, told  me they  were basically  two  merlins  with a lightweight  body - the merlins  in fact had a  tendency to be to powerful for the  frame, they had considered  tweaking the engines for more horse power  but there was a worry it would twist the frame, so they left it at just a spitfire eater.

Not anything built, at least not in the last quarter of a century! Several moves and no personal display space have taken their toll I'm afraid.

I would have said to try some paper stuck to a board  - draw some lines  or shapes  and like the old  fill in pictures  try your  sprayer  in the different sections to get a feel for it.

WOW Chris you found more in 24 hours than I was able to find in a month! The bottom picture looks like a restored Huey at some movie set in southern California. Did the original site where you found the picture have any further information?

I just put  Blackjacks UH1  in a google search  then clicked to view any pictures  and saw these two - there were others.

reality sets in..........I just saw that the Sentimental Journey was a B 17G :(    I really was starting to warm up to her too..................

you are correct there Lou........not too many f's that were in their natural skin..........99% were olive green.   the natural aluminum finish was reserved for the G variant.   the F's had the chin turret....as you see in this picture,  it went through some changes as well.  the first picture you sent Lou is not an actual plane........can't find that number anywhere.   I try to avoid paintings........too much room for error.   you would not believe how many sites I've book marked related to the B 17....good way to know that a certain marking is real.   Lou was suggesting that I go with the RAF OC.....I think that one is an earlier model 299,  since it is void the ball turret underneath.

yea..........I guess the Memphis Belle has it.  I've also ordered the 1990 film...there are also a trove of documentaries on the M.B. and B 17's in general.  so.....that's that........I won't even need to alter the title.

    This would look Superb though.

Thanks for the pictures OC. I agree, they are great pictures. I have not been that close to a Huey in 50 years, I'm jealous.

It looks like some students are getting the grand tour, even getting to go on board leaving their packs on the ground.

If the day was not too hot we could lift 13 combat troops plus crew. Didn't carry that many very often and never unless necessary.

I remember that  scene from the Arnie  film  Predator  where there must be getting on  to ten of them in a Huey.

    Thanks OC

I have already looked at that set of decals and there would be little of use in them for me. Most of them are "B" models and one is USMC. Most of the usable decals in that set that are u\sable to me are already in the set that came with my model. The Werner's Wings set matches no Huey I have ever seen. Besides they are in 1/48th, my build will be in 1/35th. I have already come to the conclusion that at least some of my build will have to be generic rather than unique to a particular aircraft.

    Thanks for trying.

    No problem my friend.
