Thanks OC. I'll be opening a log soon for a CH-53 build. Still doing some research.
I will look forward to that Mark.

I agree with the family - the fade does look good and realistic - try doing that again delibrately.

I'm surpirsed at how far away that ammo box is for the tailgunner.... wow.
CDW, I think 250 rounds was the standard loadout back then for each gun. But it might have been more. In Nam our loadout was around 250 per gun for the .50's on our CH-53's.
Sorry to deflect the subject but I found this Mark -

How close were you to this aircraft when you took the photo? I'll bet that sucker was loud. Nice photo, very nice.
I was about 3/4 of a mile away i was staying on a caravan park fairly close to the airshow, I had a good view of the aircraft as they ran in for thier display - yep it was loud - but loudest medal has to go to a German AF F4 Phantom in the the 90s at the same airshow that did a very low long fast fly by and clipped the sound barrier - amazing experience even after all these years,
I know Ken will know about this -

Will first need to seal the decals then touch up panel lines. The canopy is not glued on so will remove it before seal, then glue in place last.
All good reference points for me for when I start my Mosi kit.

Looking superb the whole things really looks the part - will you have to touch up any of the panel lines were the decals are? will you then have to mask the canopy ready for a flat/satin top coat?

I agree with Yves - not easy to get a decent coverage with gloss without it looking to thick, but you have done a great job.
Happy new year to you and the family.

Those landing gear look to be a silver-gray color. Photos on the net are rather inconclusive to me so I am going to wing-it for the colors on some of the features such as the gear. Did you ever get a close look at one at an airshow or anything?
The cockpit colors are easy...it's all black from what I can tell.
Last time I was close up to a Rafale in a static was about 23 years ago and no pics survived.

Looks like there are some graphics on top of the external wing fuel tanks? Interesting.
Yep I was told they were inter changes from a Tiger meet scheme version (possibly had a few special scheme tanks knocking around)
