The head gratings are in place.

They need some trimming and some paint work.

The knight heads are just dry fitted.

I extended the beak head and will paint it when I paint the gratings.

I just need to make two fashion pieces that sit on top of the head rails and two double seats of ease and the head will be complete.

I’m holding off on making the boomkins until I get further along so I don’t break them.

Very tidy work phil, coming together now.

  2. Just a suggestion phil  - where the beak head comes up and you have it flush with the heads decking,  it would be good if  you made an extion of the beak head as I understand it was designed  so the  bowsprit  can rest on it.

You would need to test dry fit the bowsprit  first  to get an idea  of how much  gap there is under neath where the beak head comes through.

According to documentation provided at this site, Terror's bulwarks were painted yellow. The exact shade is not described, but the Admiralty must have had some sort of standardized color scheme for vessels of that type and period.

Great start,   I would have thought  yellow  ocre  as it was quite a standardized  paint.

  5. Welcome rusty,  I have to agree  with phil  its quite a good starting kit,   Im sure most would agree  best action with it is to  think your way through it stage by stage, try dry fitting in stages  to get a feel for things, but most of all  ask as many questions  as you want  even if you think it sounds daft or  not important (we have all been there)   most of all  take your time and enjoy.
