A little more progress tonight, firstly I discovered my own design fault with the extended forecastle deck, the edge of this ends close to the second canon port opening, and a ladder was supposed to be placed here, but it would be in the way of the canon and working crew, I thought about building a small deck extention (lke on the Victory from her poop deck) but that wont look right, so I decided to create a small verticle ladder fitted against the forward bulkhead, possibly with a rope secured into both decks by a ring attachment. I aslo worked on and fitted the two knightheads, from a piece of 1.5 1mm that had to be reduced in thickness by 50% where it fits against the front curved bulwark. Pictures tomorrow. OC.

A great walk down memory lane my friend, I think I remember it from way back then, I was building my De Ag HMS Victory back then (the part works kit) and got as far as building one of the launches ( I still have that but alas lost my main Vic in a house move - had to leave it at the old house as it was to big to take with us). Love the Bass in the corner of the room (oh yes I spot things like that being a musician) OC.

Very nice work, what is the purpose of the small cut out in the corner of the grating.? OC.

More progress with the steps today, as the weather has changed again so some bench time was calling me, I finnished the steps by cutting the length to suit the deck height, then after a bit of sanding to get a tight but accurate fit, I applied a small amount of pva and set them in place, after a few hours I finnished with a coat of flat top coat to seal them in. Just the one photo - OC.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
