Hello again young man Well your stern looks really smart. And your paintwork on both the taffrail and name plate is excellent. My painting was only just passable from about three feet. You have just about caught me up with your build. I am doing the rudder. Tell you what it's a long scroll to the bottom this page. Is there any easier way??? Good stuff derek, keep it up. DAVID

Hello patrick Yes I thought of lining the gun ports after the first planking, but thought it would be very tricky, also my planking was not all it should have been, and the sanding back of the second planking would have severely reduced the thickness of it. I note you were pretty happy with the gallery skins and had put them to one side till later. It might be an idea not to glaze the inside of the skins, but simply glaze each of the windows individually before you insert them. It's an idea for you to think about. Well good luck with your build, and I look forward to your next up date. DAVID

Greetings all Well what have I done over the last few days ? Well not a lot really. I assembled and painted the catheads and put them away to fit them later. I then completed the stern and facia area ,or so I thought, until I received a mail from ocean clipper (derek s ) asking me what size the capping was on the stern facia edges as he could not find it. I told him there wasn't any. Alas another mail arrived telling me there was, and also the size, and he had found it in page 38 . Well it can wait as I have started the rudder and copper plated it. Once the rudder is fitted I think I will have a go at the gunport lids. But firstly check out what needs doing before I start, such as the rigols and also tidying the paintwork. OK so I will show you a few photos of the stern and two of the catheads. Thanks a lot for viewing and comments which are all appreciated. OK here a few of the latest photos. Thanks a lot DAVID

Greetings yon All is looking good. I do agree with derek on the netting, you can easily snag it. I have looked about for something to use and all I have came across Is the mesh they use for the wrapping of garlic. You see it in supermarkets, then I seen it mentioned on someone's log saying it was not a good choice, so curtain seems the best bet up to now. You must be just about ready for the poop deck and stairs now. Anyway keep up the good work. Crack on ...DAVID

Hello Kevin It appears that most builders are posting a summary of there work from the beginning up to present stage. If you have the time and patience you could put up blocks of photos and dialogue stage by stage, the hull build , the planking , the lower deck the middle deck etc. Its all up to. Look forward to see you up and running soon. DAVID

Patrick Your build is coming on fine and as for snapping off those corners, you are just copying others . You will probably find a few more as your build progresses. The alignment of the skins can be a bit tricky and you can always leave them till later, as you may of seen on Gil middletons log (alas no longer there) he fitted all the galleries at the same time later in he's build, anyway crack on,enjoy your build.DAVID

Thanks for your last post, hope all is ok, I have just had a bit of help from you. I decided to make up the cats heads and see how they fitted, and there they are on your log. What I was thinking was to maybe use the beach strip as the continuation from the bottom of the catheads support bracket onto the upper head rail, as this would be simpler than using brass profile. Anyway the best of luck with your build. Are you far off starting the galleries, let me know. Cheers yon. DAVID

Greetings Patrick Good to see you back and look forward to getting your log up and running, which I said to you on my log ( well if you can call it that ) . Lets hope that lots of the victory builds will reappear. I have just finished all the galleries and am wondering to go next, it could be a start on the gun ports lids and tidy the hull paintwork as I go. Look forward to you uploading your log. DAVID

greetings Ok here we go again. what I intend to do is make this batch bring me up to date, and then start my build log proper. These photos will take us from quarter deck views up to the stern facia fitting, showing work on the poop deck and the poop deck stairs and last six guns. And then onto the quarter galleries and finally the stern facia. I would like to thank you one and all for viewing and all your comments, and wish you all good luck with your builds. Here we go (he says hopefully) Thanks a lot DAVID
