Hi there is not much to see since last but a few yards more it is.

it's been awhile since I last looked in......good to see you've made some really fantastic progress on her.   four years really isn't a long time,  if you look at the detailed rigging and tackle........some really phenomenal work!

I'm glad to hear from you again. yes I think you have long since finished the fishing cutter "Norden". so what are you building on now? I am still preparing to raise the mast but there are many shortcomings I have skipped earlier which must now be done before it is to raise the mast - otherwise it will be inaccessible to reach. Here is the main mast stays attachment on the deck, which I made this morning - I have run into a little dry time so I am now on the computer.  

I had to remove the bench to get to

 

 

the brackets consist of a brass nail, one piece 2 x 2 mm plate from my brass platter and then some cut-off from some billing bots fiting.

 

 

It all happens here at the rowing shop

here with 1 mm brass wire bent to rings

and then just wait until they are dry 😁

I guess one could call them shackle cleats........common name is eye bolts.   nicely done!  I see what you mean by tight space

I have just joined up to the site, and I have many questions for you... But first of all, I'd just like to acknowledge the fact, that I'm a coffee drinker/ with no interest in the tea trade 🙂

Look, I'm a complete novice when it comes to wooden ship building, however I went through this entire post several days ago... and I felt happy, and somewhat excited. 

 

It felt like I was almost 15 years of age again, entering a cinema again... watching the film Titanic again.

I feel that you have introduced a living theme? Like James Cameron did, into the movie Titanic. 

 

Anyway, my first question is about your power supply, it looks like a tesla coil? I have seen this wireless power supply during training before, and its impressive. 

 

Is that why you chose to spray copper paint? Because real copper planks could interfere with your power supply?

 

I Am genuinely interested in your lighting philosophy, and the rest  you're bringing something to life again. You're also casting new parts, in the age of the internet. I respect this 100%.

 

I do not intend on finishing any model ship, but if I was to try, your work will be a standard I will strive for. Thanks for your help, and please continue your post.

thank you for the nice words about my model .I am very surprised and honored to be compared to one of the great filmmakers,
 but I can see what you mean by being cast in another time and place - it is a big part of building model.


that with the power - there I must disappoint you - the power supply is cable connected, but with very thin wires, 
which is not seen in the picture

unfortunately i have no battery now - it is made for 12 wolt when i used dasbord bulb in the beginning. later i found out i 
could use led light .

 

the current goes via cables ( 0,3 mm virer )to the cradle where the plus and minus are at each end and attached to a small screw when the model is right in the cradle the

screws touch two metal plates in the bottom of the keel.

 

 

I hope this detection does not disappoint you - even though I thought it was brilliant to be able to use vieres for cable 
- the navigation light is powered by the support for bulvork where the plus and minus are twisted together as a support and
 painted white

 

Well but I hope this is understandable what I write - it is with the help of google translate and therefore it can be a bit strange - I hope it works

I am currently raising the mast - here are just a few pictures of it. I also just made me a new space holder for the rat lines (modifede the old more pricese ) which I will soon be busy with.

Her is a pic. of my old space holder but the drills always catses the tread , and get stok in the other riggin . so now i changed the dril with to small woodstiks - hope it wil bee bedther .😁

I have now started on the rat lines. I have further modified my clamp by making a leash brake - the first knot has always caused me torment, but now it goes like a breeze.

Just looking in and am really impressed by your model. I also had a look at kpunts Cutty Sark just now and its amazing how this model gets the treatment by various modellers. A real inspiration for me. I am envious that you are working on the masting and rigging already. You have done beautiful work in prepping the masts and yards. I wish I had your talent for making all the fittings for them.

cutty sark in the window sill is artesania latina. i built it approx. 2010- 2013 it is a fantastic good kit with high quality material selection. I built it half after instruction and half after pictures of C.S.

Hello everyone here is a small update that has required a lot of patience and 2½ meter anchor chain 1½mm thickness. There are a few stays and backstays missing before I move on to the main mast but it vill com .

impressive work Jens. 

I am building on other scratch forum  massive cutty1:24 but only low masted understandingly,here and there reworking many parts, occasionaly taking inspiration from  work of others as well. I have to take hat off before you small scale builders guys im impressed how many details even on stern you are able to make. looks lovely with all that chain applied. very nice work on standing rigging eyebolts near masts. congrats.

I've seen your build log - and it's an impressive project you're on. and your richness in detail make you honor. i'm a little curious about where you should have it on display ? Is it for an exhibition of some sort. ? it will certainly attract attention wherever it stands.

Thank you for your input, yes it is really delicious with all the chain, I myself absolutely love it. However, I have a problem I have approx. 5 m chain I probably need at least 8 m, but of course it can be obtained.
