Ben & Augie,

I was thinking….it's a new beginning at MSW so………..

I don't say it!

I'll be sitting silently and watch what is going on.

There is somebody behind me who is watching me over my shoulder what I'm writing.

I'll wait for Mobbsie his return so he's the judge in this matter.

Hi Theo,

I think it was not so difficult to" stumbled" over the two build logs  :)

Welcome on MSW.

And thanks for the kind words.

What about the updates………for the San Ildefonso maybe this weekend and the Mirage it takes a little bit longer…...

I just love working on the SI but you never know.

Hello Sjors,

Nice to see your old rust bucket back on line my friend. 279 posts and a Lieutenant already, you really are in a hurry to get back up there aint ya.

You have too many teeth for me at the moment to make any judgements, knowing what a fickle ally you can be tells me to sit on the fence and watch this one out, :piratetongueor4:

I wont go behind your back !!!!!!!!!! (Honestly).

Hi Mobbsie,

I was Commodore and I want to be it again….. (joke)

The Mirage has to be posted and I have to get some paint for her.

In a few days I hope I can also go further with her.

No worries my friend, I don't want to have a fight with Anja  :P

Hej Sjors,

Thank you for your kind words, I wasn't aware of the fact that you have build her as well

As for the Santisima Trinidad, I'm actually considering to start a  build log for her in parallel on MSW but first i need to figure out how MSW works.

I started with an album for the Smit Rotterdam  but still find it a bit tricky/messy/complex compared to "blogspot"..

Goodness, Sjors - it has been nearly 2 weeks and no updates???  Are you ignoring Le Mirage to pamper the San Ildefonso???  Will she not become envious or feel neglected????

Take your time, Sjors - both are looking very nice!!!

Hi Wayne,

I know and I'm on shame on myself…..( I think that this is not correct)

Le Mirage is still waiting for a few modifications and a little stain…...

And yes, I have to work on her.

And no,I don't know when…...

In 2 weeks we are 1 week free of duty so I hope I can work on her then.

Thanks Dave,

I just finishing the gratings at the San Ildefonso and then I go back to the Le Mirage.

Otherwise she is at the same stage and I can not tie 5000 ratlines at once but 10.000 …….

Here is one clove hitch done.  I can make 5,000 copies on the copier if that will help.......

Good luck - that promises to be a time consuming task!!!

RATLINES ......... I LOVE ratlines.  As long as someone else is tying them. :P  :P  :P

Don't forget that microscopic dab of glue on each one (x's 5-10,0000).

Current Build: US Frigate Confederacy - MS 1:64

Previous Builds :

US Brig Syren (MS) - 2013 (see Completed Ship Gallery)

Greek Tug Ulises (OcCre) - 2009 (see Completed Ship Gallery)

Victory Cross Section (Corel) - 1988

Essex (MS) 1/8"- 1976

Cutty Sark (Revell 1:96) - 1956

Hang on a second.  In checking on the last photo update here (see page 4), I notice the distinct absence of masts.  Now I'm still new at this, but I would think tying ratlines without masts would be a formidable challenge.

Please advise

Augie, you are right, without masts no rigging and no ratlines.

I think Sjors is racing his two ships against eachother.

The one that wins, will be the first one receiving its mast ..... And then the rigging must begin.

I'm sure he will enjoy that and what you said about that microscopic dab of glue on each one (x's 5-10,0000). smileys-yes-and-no-179998.gif

Take care,

Ok funny Guys!

I think you all need glasses or a magnifier…..

See the picture below.

There is only one thing…….

When I placed the masts I was thinking….2 masts?

That's not right!

The drawing saying 3 masts but where is number three?

So I take all the drawings to see if I have missed something….

The front and middle deck has his holes for the masts but they forget the stern deck :(

Anja thought that I was planking over it but no, no hole……..

I have to take my drill again and make another hole…..
