If you ever change your username, PLEASE READ

Recommended Posts

Folks, a couple of you have recently changed your usernames, which is fine. BUT, if you do change your username, please help us out by editing the titles of all your build logs (you can do this in the first post of each log), so that your logs will conform to the usual naming conventions that help improve the functionality of our search feature.

Thank you!

Hi Louie,

Up at the top of the page, hit the little downarrow to the right of your name.  Then hit "Account Settings"  Then click on "Display Name".  You can change it there.

Quick question - if I change my username (to something a little more grown-up!), will this break the link for anyone following my builds? Or will they automatically update?

Current builds:

1) HMS Victory 1:100 (Heller)

https://modelshipworld.com/topic/23247-hms-victory-by-kevin-the-lubber-heller-1100-plastic-with-3d-printed-additions/

2) Bluenose II 1:100 (Billing) - paused, not in the mood

https://modelshipworld.com/topic/30694-billing-bluenose-ii-1100-no600-by-kevin-the-lubber/

3) Cutty Sark 1:96 Revell

https://modelshipworld.com/topic/30964-cutty-sark-by-kevin-the-lubber-revell-196

Stash:

Revell Cutty Sark 1/96 (a spare for later)

Revell Beagle 1/96 (unlikely to ever get built!)

Revell Kearsage 1/96 (can't wait to get started on this)

Revell Constitution 1/96

I changed my name once and the links continued to work correctly.

Your username in the titles of your post will not change. Then I had to change them all separately, one by one.

Kevin,

Nothing wrong with your current name at all.  Yours is more interesting than mine and many others to be sure.

Usernames are, for me, like passwords - I always struggle to come up with something and kevin-the-lubber was a very off-the-cuff choice. It's fine for forum use but if I do manage to open a little 3D parts shop it's not a great label, is it! Anyway, I'm still pondering on it so we'll see.

Kevn, you can do as others do and add a profile for the business.

Oh, please don't change it. We all love it, and i'm sure you do too. Even though you might not be a "lubber" anymore, names like that keep this fun. It doesn't need to be all serious and stern. For the love of all things good, don't axe your MSW handle.
