uploading pictures

Hello,

Is there a size limitation of uploaded photos in terms of kb or mb besides pixel size of 1200x1600 ? If you posting a JPEG image there is a quality option ,  which effects its size kb or mb , when saving it in the final step when you are resizing it ?

If you use a quality around 85-90 you shouldn't have any issues at that resolution of 1200x1600 pixels, and the image should be good quality and not showing any noticeable compression artefacts.

Hi folks,

 

I am managing fine to upload photo’s in topics, replies etc. However when I try to upload a picture to my profile I am told that the file is too large. 
Can I edit the photo on an iPad and upload it direct as I do with other photo’s. When I have uploaded photo’s from the iPad  to other topics and gallery’s it has done so without any request to re-size.

 

I hope that makes sense to at least one able person.

Thanks for the help. I’m not quite there yet and it’s not an important issue, but at least I am no longer just a T in someone else’s alphabet. I whatsapped myself which compressed the picture. Then saved it and used it here. It ended up half the allowable size.

It’s a start and can wait until another day to refine.

I had problems uploading a photo to the profile page from my phone. I’m getting ready to make my first post of a build and wanted to try to upload a pic. Please delete if it’s an issue.

A problem that recently started: The file server chokes when trying to upload images from iPhone. I get an "unkown error" message showing a code 200. In the past, I uploaded photos many times from my iPhone without ever having issues but now something has changed and I don't know what changed. Even if I send the images to my email and download the images to my computer, the MSW file server won't upload them unless I do a "save as" and rename the files first. Any idea what settings I might change on my phone that would save the photos to a format that works without renaming and resaving every photo? I've been using iPhone to upload photos to MSW for years, so I assume it may be something that changed in a recent iPhone software update.
