There is so much more cockpit detail in this kit compared to the Monogram kit of my youth.

Yes I seem to remember with the old airfix kits you stuck a seat in and that's ya lot😂

But I already promised SWMBO a floaty thingy.  After this current build.... (but I think that the guns and motive power is not going to be what she expected)

And SWMBO is much more powerful than the Borg.....

Your SBD is coming along nicely, Edward. 👍

Lou, they were more interested in the operating doo-dads, like the operating bomb drop or folding wings. But, I think I built most of those old Monogram kits.

You are right Ken. But so was I,:D I dropped many a bomb and it never hit the prop because of the fork under the wing. A one by six was my aircraft carrier and my whole back yard was my ocean. I think I built all of them as well, but I can assure you that they did not look as good as this one.

This is new to me, off work while the sun is shining 🤔

Anyhow done a bit more fitted and glued wings, also rear wings. I think before I go any further I'll get some colour on it, just the bottom colour which according to the paint guide is an off white but the one I've got is satin white. We shall see next time.

Thanks for all your comments and likes, and stay safe!!

Cheers 😁👍

Seriously, the wife is going to give me the askance eye and eventually ask about her boat.... But I'm strongly leaning towards the Revell 1/32nd scale Corsair..... I suppose it will fit on my shelf if I fold one of the wings......

I'm being corrupted by great modeling......

You guys are seriuosly tempting me to drag out the Testors 1:48 scale AC-130 Gunship kit from my stash. I got it decades ago shortly after I built the Testors 1:48 scale C-130 Cargo plane, measure 25 inches long with wingspan of about 37 inches, give or take. Was going to build both until I realized I had no place to display it.   The Borg are calling ;);):(

I don't know about the Borg but now that you have let the cat out of the bag that you have a 1/48 C-130 in the stash you are obligated to get on it. That is unless you show us your entire stash. In which case we will pick your next build. WE are MUCH more powerful than the Borg.:stunned:

Hahahaha !  Knew you would take the bait, Lou ! :D;)

Actually there are only 4 un-built aircraft kits in the stash, all 1:48 scale, and 2 of the 4 are huge. It's not the -C130 cargo, Lou,  but rather the Lockheed AC-130A Hercules Gunship.    But then I do have veto power :D.  Patience my friend !

Both models finished are 2 ft in length, OC, takes a lot of bench space, even more to paint it....... have to do some thinking on this. That's why they are  stll in my un-built  stash.
