Probably Sgt Patrick Harper 😉 as the set looks like Captain Richard Sharpe and his Chosen Men (Bernard Cornwell series of books).

Wasn't that gun intended for use by the Royal Marines from the fighting tops? If it the same gun, the navy discarded it, as the fierce kick threw the Marines off their feet, often, and sent them crashing to the deck🤕😒

Kinda what I thought as far as the look.... Good look though....

The Royal Navy removed it from service in 1804, not only was it a bear to fire, it brought fire to bear on sails and rigging and powder... Reports have it as a veritable blowtorch when fired, the blast would reach 9 feet, (with fully charged barrels that is) I believe the Pawn stars clip was only partially charged....

The last authentic one sold at auction in England, (in firing condition) went for 25k pounds, the 30k dollars they were throwing around on the show as a price would be a bargain if the gun was real and not a reproduction.......

Personally if I owned such, it would NEVER get fired.... Worth too much to even let powder near it...

Most excellent, OC. Have to have the Rifles there. I know, the KGL used them too, but the 96th are the icing on the cake, so to speak.  The painted officer almost looks like the nefarious Sgt Obadiah (I don't remember his last name).

Yes, Peter played the nasty sergeant quite well. The whole cast was quite good.

The Cornwell series made me dig out a copy of Napier's history war on the Peninsula, the single volume version thankfully. The writing style of that time was laborious to read, so 1 book was enough. There are much better books with much better scholarship now.

Evening all, firstly a Huge thanks for all the likes  - I know its been an on and off build taking some time  - but we will get there  (one year) lol.

Anyway some news today  Shawn the display unit maker has sent my  reworked  unit out and will  arrive  (not broken)  tomorrow, it is the exact same size (good)  and made with toughened glass - so I expect it to be heavier, bad news its coming with the same courier who brought/collected the first one (he better not have an attitude this time)

Display case arrived this lunchtime  Smashed again the whole one side all fragments inside the box  - I am fuming, fed up really can't be bothered with all this hassle - its like its mission impossible, I rung shawn up in fairness he was gutted aswell and promises to get it fixed and even deliver it himself if needs be, the trouble is  the  wooden case he has put the glass unit in has not got enough absorbtion material around the glass and a small amount of movement inside the box where the unit can move, also its not being handled by two people - infact the driver who delivered it had it under his arm.🥵🥵🤬🤬.
