Good day from South Africa

I am 56, male and a Control Systems Engineer by profession. I am an avid RC helicopter pilot and modeller ( see attached, 2 of my models). Got into machining as an extension of the model building and as an exercise, I fond a nice cannon to make. This led to that and…well I am hooked on naval guns. Next project is a post mont Falconet…(hope that is what it is called)

Wonderful work on this site…well done to all

Welcome aboard, Andre!:piratebo5:

I to am an avid RC modeler.  But, I'm just a fixed wing guy.  I also enjoy machining parts for my models.  It is fun to be able to combine wood and metal into a beautiful model.  Your helicopters are most impressive.

I look forward to seeing more of your work here.  Please post a build log for your Falconet.

Welcome to MSW, Andre. Wonderful work on the choppers.   I had to look several times to really let it sink in those are models and not the real thing.

Wow, I always wanted to try out RC flight (even bought a fixed wing) but simply have not found the time to learn (and find a group to help teach me 😉). Looking forward to seeing your work and welcome aboard!

Awesome models!!!
I used to live and work in S. Africa, in Natal, not too far from Pietermaritzburg and Ixopo. Worked as a medical officer in one of the Catholic missions.

Sweet memories...!

Greetings,

Thomas
