I have been having the sense to build OOB of late like the Mig-3 of late just trying to build something that looks somewhat half way decent to the eye.I will dive into some of the 1/32's that deserve it and do full build logs but here it will be mainly 1/72 and 1/48 that just happen to hit the desk to fill the gaps in-between a full log.

This Classic Airframes the Dehavilland Hornet has resin copit, resin wheels and the dreaded vacuum formed canopy.I say everything seemed good till I got to the canopy only used one but seems that maybe I was to go even further got to be over 20years since I messed with one of those. The reveal after the painting showed frosting both some outside and inside it was crystal clear before hand beautiful.I think I was to bevel the inside ledge ever so slightly to get a better fit.:default_wallbash: It is what it is at this point.;)

This the Eduard 1/48 W/E kit I wanted to do the break up the Sharnhorst build waiting for other supplies to that build. This was  a fun little kit to build. The rigging what is there is done with stretched sprue and incense stick to tighten it up something I learned years ago on a ship model forum, the smoke does the work. The prop I painted wood first then the paint left in the reservoir got mixed with leather to my liking.Once the prop was half way dry(impatient) I coated it with a mix of yellow/red Tamiya clear acrylic(could of probably used more) to give that slight varnish looked.I started dirtying her up some kinda chicken out still looks decent for a fun/quick build.;)

That Fokker is a little beauty, very carefully done, nothing out of place. Great painting and finish. Love the laminated propeller!

Dan

A new one is about to be finished in the next week an Eduard P-51 OOB and I got to say the fit is as good as any Tamy or ICM most excellent!I am doing this build as a necessary diversion from the Scharnhorst to which I have been hacking away at for 6/8 months now.I am going to try an idea on the P-51 painting some panels in light grey and painting all one silver see if it works.;)

This was a little build again to alleviate tedious of the ship build. The kit is the Tamy FW-190 D9 "Dora" a Nice kit something you expect from Tamiya I did add a AM Resin/PE kit forget the name nice improvement though. This is my third build of A/C getting away from the ship and they all have been difficult in the home stretch something always messing it up.The 190 build somehow I lost a gear door and my office area and shop is all hardwood laminate floors??I was close to binning the kit but said I can make it and so I did and you will be hard pressed to figure which one.She is the stand till tomorrow evening after work thought the legs were good enough not so.Thanks for looking.;)

Though not finished as of yet the time is near. The kit is the 1/48 MiniArt which I would highly recommend to which I think the lines/rivets surpasses the Tamiya's offering for me at least.I had to do the bombs twice seeing the first go round the seams still showed some.I applied the second time the MrSurfacer 1000 with foam(1st time qtip) pad till it started to dry and pulling the foam back I got resistance this pulled the paint outward creating a stubble effect like cast iron. The effect in 1/32 one might need MS500 just guessing?;)

I am calling this one done fellas I had three pieces left to install two landing lights and the clear underwing light ..well as my luck has been the last I dropped the r/wing light and wala it was frigg'in gone 🤨.... I am not manufacturing another one I figure by the time I get done sanding and repainting I will break another gun barrel the antenna/pitot tube will both wala best to stop while ahead.I figure should it show fix it then,

The kit is a worthy kit for a P-47 the subtleties of the lines and rivets are quite nice.I had no issues with the front cowling myself upon examination notches are supplied to remove any guess work on your part.I thought I had the aux.fuel tank aligned let it sit overnight well it slid some I left it been breaking to much on this one. The one thing I did not understand you have a square hole for the LG but it was loose :default_wallbash: I mean the reason for square to get a uniform alignment no guess work other than that decals/stencils worked out great beginning to not like Florry's Dust would of been fine with the Sand like you see on the bottom.I was trying to lighten the color of of the OD for sun fade not to successful but is better than the P-40.
