I have built nordkap 476 from only pluprint a number of years ago. That was the challenge for me then. Now I'm eager to start on a bigger build. thoughts go to 1st rate ship of the line. Any thoughts? going to upload pictures of my version of the Nordkap as it turned out (the details on the model are not good)

Welcome aboard! One of our members shared some thoughts on jumping directly into the 1st rate waters.

There are lots of quality kits available these days that depict smaller men-of-war, e.g., cutters, schooners, gun brigs. Still plenty of guns and rigging, but on a scale more conducive to beginner success.

Welcome aboard!  Before building a first rate, go through building a ship with one or two masts, small number of canon, less rigging, etc.  This way you will gain experience, and decide how you will tackle these jobs, in your shop.

Good luck with your projects!
