Ooo.  Thanks for the reference @ddp!  I see those searchlight platforms need to center on the center exhaust as you say.  Good timing.

Do you have any good references for the MK33s?   I thought the lateral bar across was supposed to be aft of the direction of operation.

Good catches, and as I said, good timing!!

@ddp  Thank you!!  Can't believe I missed it in the drawing you attached - pretty obvious.   Thanks for the help - I will correct those.

I had seen that picture before but with so many men working up there (?) was unwilling to commit to that one.  But your plan view is crystal clear once you know where to look.

@ddp  Yes.  The instructions showed radars on the Mk33s and showed the Mk33s installed as I installed them.  Interesting mistake.  Also note the kit instructions show single spotlights - ironically the kit includes 4 (technically 6, but you know what I mean :P).

@ddp So when Enterprise got the radars, were they in front or on top?  Still Mk 33 directors?  The details are very interesting to say the least.

@PvG Aussie Thanks Peter - yours turned out splendid.  I loved the white lines on yours but can't find an image justifying those on Yorktown.  Probably just as well - the flight deck is a challenge regardless.

mounted onto the front of the mk 33 directors til the directors were replaced with the mk 37 with the radar mounted on the top.

your Missouri, ww2, Korean war or gulf war configuration?

@ddp  WW2 Tokyo Bay-ish.  Built from the old 1/535 Revell kit.   In retrospect I think my decks are too light of a blue.  I may repaint.
