Another great log Denis. Are you keeping track of the the hours spent on this build?

I will be a regular visitor from now on.

I noted in your SOS log that you were not going to put that fantastic effort in a glass case.  Is that still the case?  Please excuse the pun.

regards

Hi all

I have done one cannon to see how it looks.

Washed it in Hydrochloric Acid 50% water 50% acid, washed in water for half an hour.

I then dried it off.

Got a cotton  bud and applied the Brass Black.

After 10 minute's I washed it in clean water.

Dried it off, then a second coat of brass black.

I am not that happy with what I have got,

I think I should have used fine wire wool before the first coat of brass black.

Will have to work on this one before I do more.

Denis.

Hi Denis, i like the "test" gun. It looks nie, and it is interesting that you explain all the process. I will remember this, when i will paint some guns.

Thank's for share

Hi all.

Had a bit of a disaster :( :( .

Two of the dummy cannon blocks under the forecastle decided they did not like the position they were glued in.

The little so and so's moved to the center of the deck, and they did not ask me  .

Now what do I do, after some thought I decided to take two hull planks off.

I have now re glued the blocks back.

Now putting the hull planks back.

So much fun :angry::huh::o .

G'day Denis

I pressed like only because I feel for you. It's a bummer when you have to do that, but at least it's done and fixed now. Well done mate.

Denis, I experienced the same thing with the Euromodel  Friederich Wilhelm zu Pferde (FW for short !) and then made a vow that besides using instant glue, I would also pass a fine nail through each carriage into the deck before adding the cannon in any future builds. Maybe not totally authentic but hey, the use of glue isn't either.
