Sorry I fell behind in reposting.  Still working on posting my Constitution build.  Anyway, this is my Model Shipways 18th Century Longboat which is being built as part of our San Diego Ship Modelers' Guild Community Build.  There are currently 8 members building the longboat which we started in October 2012.

Completed planking and installed treenails.  I used a #79 drill bit and simply used my sawdust and some white glue to fill the holes.  Removed the frames and sanded, installed the cap rails and ready for paint.

Painting in progress.  As a side note, I hate painting.  When I do have to paint I use only Badger paints.  They are water based and very thin which allows the grain to show through the wood.

Bob,

Progress looks great. Where do you get your Badger paint, locally or online?

Chuck,

I but my paints at the below link.  This is mainly a model train shop.

Added the friezes.  Still have the trim piece to install below the frieze and the hull will be complete.  I used the friezes downloaded from this forum.  The smallest one fit my hull perfectly.  The ones supplied in the kit were way too large.

Bob,

Looks great.  Did you drill a hole in the keel for the brass tubes or did you slot the tubes?

Thanks Bob. I have not decided if I want to mount it on posts like you did or go with the traditional pedestals.

How far did you get in the discussion regarding cases during the last meeting? I think that would be good info for this group as well.

Installed the floorboards and platforms.  Most of my modeling has been taken up by copper plating the Constitution.  I will start catching up with the group.
