  1. Hi Ian The bluff bow certainly makes the planking a bit easier as the amount needed to taper planks is shorter because the bend in them starts a lot further toward the bow
  2. Thanks John Sanding is my least favourite part of a build but one of the most important, so i do my best to get it right
  3. You have done the planking with the same method i use, to me it looks great nice neat joints without looking overcrowded with them
  4. You will have a nice solid framework to support you planking when your done
  5. Hehe Carl Make sure the heating is on as it gets a bit drafty down in the bilge area
  6. Thanks Don It took a day and half but i cut down the work involved by using the same method i used to fair the frames on my defunct Bounty. Get a belt and using double sided tape stick some sandpaper to it, you can then wrap the belt round the bow and along the edges of the hull and just pull it backwards and forwards. Altering the pressure either side as needed keeps it all even
  7. Thanks Per Yep, waiting made me more in the mood to get on with it once they arrived
  8. Received my replacement bow filler blocks yesterday As you can see the replacements are quite a bit bigger than the supplied ones Fitted them in place and shape the bluff bow
  9. My own builds can sit around for ages without getting anything done, but when i get interested in someone else's build i can't wait
  10. That's a good reason not to rush a build An hour here and there has it's upsides Your fore top is very neat indeed
  11. I hung my hammocks on the 2 hooks furthest away from the cannon tools and i made the ropes a bit longer so they hung lower away from the gun port rigging. That way i was able to leave them all in the open position as the look better to me open and they did not foul the tools
