    Thank you Druxey.

I was told to do the heads first and that was indeed the most difficult part.  I kept going away and coming back to it.  Taking off a little here and a little there.  Even when I thought I was done I kept going back to them.  They are not in anyway masterpieces but from 1 foot away they are okay.

This was not my first attempt.  I've been at this on and off for almost 3 years.

I suppose "on and off" should be my motto.

There is one local fellow I could have commissioned and it would be a masterpiece but then it wouldn't be mine.

This is the result of my efforts in recreating my interpretation of the description of the first figurehead that was destroyed in 1793 when she collided with HMS Majestic in a gale force storm.

I am quite happy with it and do not believe there is another model of this ship in existence with this version of this famous ship's figurehead.

I hope I've done it justice.

A good day as I learned something new in that I never knew yards were stored on the channels and I would like to learn more about this.    AH, can you share any contemporary information about this stowage on the channels, how they were secured, etc.  I am having a hard time picturing this as the lower yards on the USS Constitution were nearly triple the length of the channels.    I did some searching on my own but could not find anything contemporary.  I did find a very nice, well detailed, set of free plans at https://ussconstitutionmuseum.org/discover-learn/modeler-resources/   The ship's boats drawings are especially well done.

Jackstays were introduced in the Royal Navy in 1811 so if the US was copying the idea, makes sense that they probably had not knocked off the idea by 1812.   Do you know when jackstays came into use in the US?

    TIA

Thanks everyone for the comments and the "Likes".  I had my Medway Longboat on display at Modelcon on August 7th, which was a ship model show held on the Battleship New Jersey and hosted by the Philadelphia Ship Model Society.  I was displaying it on the fantail of the ship.  Here is a photo of the display:

I had a scare when I packed up the model to bring it home.  I had placed the model on its build board, which was secured to the bottom of a cardboard box, and placed the box on a table.  A gust of wind came through and blew the box with my model in it off of the table.  My heart sank as the box landed on its side and the model was thrown partially out of the box.  Luckily, the only damage to the model was some paint was rubbed off of the bowsprit when it slid inside of the box.  All of the glue joints held.  I was real lucky that the model did not suffer more damage.

I finally got back to work on it this week.  I have been working on the oars as I want to display six of them with the model.  I shortened the length of the oars to nine inches, which would be 18 scale feet.  The next step is to paint them with multiple coats of highly thinned paint.

It is hard to believe the model is close to being finished.  I have enjoyed every minute of building this model.

The entire point of the meme is to make the internet rage-nerd trolls react.  Having a FireFly character saying something from the Star Trek franchise and attributing it to a Star Wars character is what makes it funny.

There are plenty of seats available.  Please register because those who are registered will be in the first group to get access.  All members will, but not at the same time as those who registered.
Once we pass 100 which was real early we paid the month fee for extra seats - we will never fill all those seats - the fee is very reasonable so it's not a burden.
There are 251 registered and we have almost that many seats still available.

Decided to mix it up and tackle the anchor mini kit.

The parts fit was good and I left this part to dry overnight.

Then cleaned them up and sanded ready for the straps.

To make the straps I used the pink 3m painters tape and cut 2mm strips and removed every other one so the paint will go to the edge. I tried regular masking tape and the blue tape but the pink was the smoothest.

Wrapped and glued the straps on with the tiniest dab of super glue.

Then made up some dark brown rope and spent some time wrapping the rings. Wasn't hard to do just time consuming.

Then once they were wrapped I roughed up the buoys and painted them black after filling the holes with toothpicks

Then did the rigging on them and that was fun trying to get it all to look right but it was worth it in the end.
I used a bit of my weathering pencils on the anchors and like the way it looks.

I placed a few more frames. In this type of carpentry to be able to set up a frame it takes a lot of time!
To give the structure more solidity, I thought of using some steel nails placed transversely at the base of the frames:
