stern flag - my improvisation in design and location . flag s coat of arm used in Philipp II reighn I found somewhere in the internet... I saw on some of the galleon pictures , that stern flag staff locates not strait in the middle line and extreme aft, as it was in later times , but it is more close to the mizzen ... pictures - just examples of flags and banners possible locations on galleon...

Michael, This is very nice place for working and for making foto - this white box - good idea!!! Today I hung the flag on the mizzen ... now all the masts with flags! Tomorrow I will be engaged with stern flag and later on banners - pennants ... and 6 more flags on the deck)) need to be installed ! total there will be 10 pennants and 6 deck ... ps after flags pictures thermotransfering, each one need to be repainted by hand brush (acrylic) at least big colored area need to be threated - transfering film has some glossy effect and repainting solve this glossy on fabric

Good day Michael, Yes, I see on this model ( as well as we could see on the other foto/another side of the model ) it was rigged on one side only... but here I still doubt it was made right way ... at least martnets in this old fashion form, should be rigged on both sides of the sails, how it should work if rigged on one side only? ..and I think buntlines here could be rigged from both sides as well that block you rigged on the fore mast and leading to the main mast... still don't understand for what it is? by the way? I learnt recently (Mondfeld book) that yards on the big galley usualy positioned on different sides of the masts... lets say - fore mast -on port side and main mast - on sbs... how did You do on your model?

Good day Michael! Nice Job!!! I like it very much! Some remarks, *Martnets*, most probably You need to fitt then on both sides of the sail - to make them workable - Than You need to add one more and double lead block on the mast top... I like very much how You represented natural slack in rigging! *sheets * For me it is not clear position of the second sheet block on the main masttop... as I knew, sheets there passing from the sail corner to the ...lets say , somewhere to the deck and belying-secured there, but not to the next mast masttop as You did ...?

Dear tovarischi! I continue to torment the sufferer! Now it's the turn of the flags ... so you look and I'll get to the stand! )) By flags ... I did it based on what is in the paintings of the Dutch ... more or less managed to get into the "theme" of flags on the foremast and main mast - comparing the images in the paintings and what I got .. The stern flag is pure fantasy, based on what should be on the original - see the pictures in comparison ... How did you do: - printed on thermal transfer paper - sold in all supermarkets selling electronics ... - from my experience and stuffed cones) ) you need to print files saved in PNG format, then acceptable detail is preserved, and you can draw pictures yourself in the standard Windows @paint @ program by choosing the necessary options ... (save as PNG) this is of course only for dummies like me ... the problem is how to print a tiny picture with good detail ... but now it seems clear what to do - you draw or use the found files, and then save it in PNG format, in order to have good picture detail on the printout ... after printouts, painted on some fragments with "gold" paint and enhanced the detailing with the help of @Kuzbass@original korma.bmpvarnish ... I applied gold paint in a somewhat dried out, let's say form, thus some 3D effect appeared, and then walked along the contour with diluted Kuzbass varnish ...

Hello everyone, slightly changed the design of the scupperhose, normaly scupperhose should be put on the scupper tube and secured, I showed only some hypothetical fasteners, not as it should be correctly but at least now it does not look as if the sleeve is simply pushed into the pipe :))) - now it is pushed in and nailed outside :))) !!!

*completed design of the gallery arcs- made imitation of some fittings ... *started preparation of the crosses for the masts tops *made some imitation of the scuppers sleeves, there are some remarks regarding scuppers location - they shown just formaly and technicaly complitely wrong , initialy there were made critical mistakes in model hull compozition which made proper scuppers positioning impossible...

Good day, Dear friends, finished with the design of the aft gallery - added arcs, as in old paintings - there these elements are present with enviable constancy. Are they made of iron? ... maybe this is a frame for an awning, if necessary, it could be arranged? but this is so, an assumption ... I have never come across options for their use ... if arcs are present in old paintings, then without any awnings, as a rule ... I don't know what else it could be? whicy material for their manufacture? ... for wood - too thin, as they are depicted in old paintings ... let them be iron

Good day Bill, Mmmm...right now, by my opinion, it doesn't look accurate and scaled... for seizing You could try Gutermann threads seria Scala No 240 or 360 even better,or similar kind of threads... this is ideal for imitation seizing and serving...using this threads your rope work will garanty looks more accurate! i used portable drill for imitation serving rope...just rotate it by hand...other side of the thread was temporary weighted ...left hand I used for feeding scala 360 for serving while main thread was rotating by right hand when serving was completed i clued end of scala and painted served rope at once

a budget option, how to use a thread from a spool, without a cable maker machine - in the photo the thread before and after "processing" is of course not what you can do with a cable maker machine, but it is better than it was on the spool ... * I cut off about a meter * I clamp one end in a vise * I pull it slightly, only so that it does not sag and holding the other end I begin to twist it in my hands along the lay ... I twist it as tightly as possible ... at least until the density of the twist looks like a normal rope * then I pull it tightly until the "reserve" is selected, so to speak by lengthening ... it is felt, the thread first stretches and then begins to resist and if you pull further, you can break ... * in this maximally extended state I hold it for several seconds and paint it right away - I stretch along the rag soaked in paint * I slowly release it and hang it to dry ... as it dries, you can repeat the procedure again for fidelity ... well, something like this - the result is in the photo ...

Good day Michael, Agree, blocks for the lover yards - sails ,we could be found on the market... remains question - blocks for the upper sails ... For that purpose , maybe conventional size of 2.0 mm blocks from the marked could be "adjusted "... ? I saw somebody trimming blocks in the small tin with sand paper plated inside ... fiited on the hand drill and slowly rotating while blocks jumping inside and "machining" .. Unfortunately, I didn't find pictures with action "chain" for the galley ...but this additional ,"action" chain slingds were well known in the past - in the Landstrem book "Vasa" You could see illustration of" Tre Croner" - in description of the rigging, He mentioned chain sling for the lower yards which clearly could be seen on the picture...
