You should stop fooling us: photoshopping pics of the original into your workbench.

Honestly: placed in a dioramasetting, and on a (BW) foto taken from a low angle it would be difficult to see this is ‘just’ a model.

That massive beam you milled, would that have been one piece in the original, or three parts bolted together?

On my my my. That is soooo small and soooo tempting. I'd really have to give it a go if it becomes available. The swear jar would get a hefty donation too!

I will start a log after I finish framing the larger 3/8” version.  This way I can just reduce the plans and parts by 75% and make adjustments.

No promises on a kit because this is all new to me…POF and building miniature models so small.  I have no idea what challenges lie ahead or if I can even do it.

Yes rigging will be a huge issue.  I will cross that bridge when I get to it.

Montaigne, your conclusion in the last sentence is particularly pertinent and I like it very much.

Regarding the specific ways used in Rhino to design a particular details, you can of course ask and so far I always managed to answer. Apart from a few organic decorative objects, all elements of the model are created with NURBS graphics. This is not only because I haven't yet had time to learn how to use SubD effectively, but mainly because this way I have tight control over dimensions and tolerances, right down to the last digit after the decimal point (in my case the document tolerance is 0.001 feet). This ensures that all the pieces fit together within this tolerance, that is so desperately needed, for example, in Boolean operations, one could say – one of the main pillars of this project.

Admittedly, I've been short of time lately because the deadline is looming, but if needed I will certainly try to clarify at least any issues that can be explained relatively quickly.

Taking this opportunity, below are some more renders for this stage of the project (30-Year's War figurine showing the scale by Captain_Ahab_62, Thingiverse).

Still some paint imperfections to sort out.  Repainted the blue to a darker metallic blue as I didn't like the light baby blue color so much

amateur reacted to Danstream in Hawker Tempest Mk. V by Danstream - FINISHED - Eduard - 1:48 scale
    Hi all,
not great progresses to show, but many small parts that need some preparation. Finally, I completed gluing the plates on the tail, only one remaining, but that will go once the fuselage is closed.

Interiors received some colors (XF-71 interior green and XF-69 NATO black):

Pedals made by folded PE and black wash applied:

As said, not much to show. However, I finished another model I was working on and OC showed some interest in it, so, if you don't mind, I would like to propose few pictures of it. The subject is the small Italian tactical jet Fiat G.91 R and the kit is the very old Italeri/ESCI kit in 1:48 scale. This is a moody picture of it quickly taken on the sill of my window in a rainy day:

The kit was with raised panels and I rescribed the entire airframe. I addition, I made numerous modifications to some incorrect features (but I did not corrected all of them).

With a blue background showing the nice lines of this aircraft typical design of the early '60s. By the way, the colors used for the early NATO camouflage are exactly the same ones that I am going to use on my Tempest:

I hope you like my model. Now I will continue full time on my Tempest.
    Best regards,
    Dan
