Here are the lower deck beams cut and shaped to length and temporarily installed so as to check positioning. I may remake a couple of them to get a better fit against the hull.
You may also be able to spot the transom sleepers at the far end of the picture which still need their bolts to be complete.
Happy Holidays to MSW.

Here are the Caprails installed and I left a decent overhang both in/outboard to allow for sanding to correct width, next up is the stem bolsters.

Lower deck framing continues up to beam no.9. This can be frustrating work to keep everything correctly spaced and symmetrical, constant adjustments need to be made as well to account for drift.
Layout for the aft framing including the beam arms can be seen.

Trussben reacted to Chuck in Medway Longboat 1742 by Chuck - FINISHED - 1/2" scale
Making rigging progress.
Will have more details once I get back from the dentist. But here is what the longboat looks like today.
Just have the bowsprit to install and some running rigging. Almost there.
Gaff was rigged first...then it was time for the shrouds followed by the backstays. Most of the lines were attached prior to placing this on the model.
Deadeys and shrouds are hooked to the straps. So they were prepared ahead of time. Including the straps and hooks for the backstays.
Finally the forestay...
Note how the straps were bent to fit around the molding.
The shrouds, backstays and forestay were served but only where they are seized around the mast. The area served extends about 1" below the where it was seized. This is an optional detail. You dont have to do this. But it does look good.
