  1. Hi Pawel This is one of the very best builds I`ve ever seen! So many details in so good quality, RESPECT!! Regards Gerhard
  2. Hi Patrick Who knows..................... To be serious, I would like to ride again, but will take some time off from that. Over the wintertime it`s much too cold, maybe next year again. But I must watch out for a not too expensuve bike, maybe a (used) sportster could be the next one. Back to the Baby and it`s new concept of driving. I want to drive the boat with a small V8 solenoid engine, this motors have the best sound of electric engines, but I must figure out, what torque I can get out of such an engine. So there will be a lot of research to make, beneath my other projects! Regards and thank you all for welcoming me back again! Gerhard
  3. Hi Bob I`m really well now after all that pain, but thats over. The new system will be an electric one, but different to everything I`ve seen in a boat. A few more research is still to make, then I will be able to show up with what I mean. It will take some more time to realize it, but I`m sure this can work. Regards Gerhard
  4. Hi Daniel Could not hit the Like Button so many times, just phantastic (as ever) Regards Gerhard
  5. Hi Nenad Good work the last weeks, friend! You have made so much progress with your skills, great pleasure to watch this. Your CS will be a great model when fiished! Regards Gerhard
  6. Hi Folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Back again after Motorbike charsh and following unexpected kenn surgery and long "not Amy Winehouse style" rehab I`m ready to go on again. Sorry for let you all waiting so long, new things will come soon. While my rehab I`ve searched for a new driving concept for the Bootlegger and other motor driven boats, maybe I`m coming up with a novelty in that case.... More about that soon! Regards Gerhard
  7. Hi Dennis Took a week to get to that point, this days now are a bit too hot for me for working. Around 30deg. C. is too much for making boats, better to take a break in the spa .................. Just doing little things in the evenings, preparing for the next steps, cutting 3 x 3 mm planks from balsa wood. Not much to report at the time, but more to come soon! Regards gerhard
  8. Hi Grant Thank you, work goes on again, the baby wants to get ready............. Hi all again Today I started with the preworks for the deck planking. First to do was to set the drilling for the steve tube, I could cut that through the basa wood with a simple piece of 7 mm brass tube. Then I started to remove the remains from the frames stands, when all are sawed off i can start with the last balsa planks. The hole for the steve tube is done, tube will be epoxyd in when the mahogany planks are done. Removing of the frames stands Regards, and thank you all again for your so many likes! Gerhard
  9. Hi Nenad Back from MY vacation, so many new things are done here! Hothead`s Card model looks simply perfect, and your deadeyes are all well lined up. Nice job at all frontiers! Regards Gerhard Enjoy your vacation!
  10. Back from vacations, thank you all for your kind likes & comments! This week since I`m back at work for the Baby, I completed the framework and made the hull planking at bottom and sides. Now that I`ve had some "timeout" from everything working on the models is a lot easier to do. Things went fast, so I can start next week with the deck planking. Frames and Keel on the building board The pressure plate from the plans is a bit too small, I had to saw a new one, that fits to the frames Different planking steps Regards Gerhard
  11. Nice Job @ Elijah With some sanding this will look a lot better than the now still raw planks. I remember making my dad`s Boat some years ago, this looked just the same, after sanding and painting with coluorless varnish the true beauty came out. Before sanding after sanding and colourless painting, rigging in progress Regards Gerhard
  12. Hi Nils Abslouley! We wrer in the Eastern Tyrol Mountains, bad weather for some days, but silence and best air at about 1600 meters. NO PC or laptop, no cellphones with us, just recover from the home renovation works. We needed that Regards Gerhard
  13. Man that sounds hard times.......... How lucky me, to be an engaged man with a long time life partner Princess will have to realize that everything at the same time will not work for long. Or going to rehab soon....................... Cant wait to see the finished flower school too! Regards Gerhard
  14. Edeltraud is not a wheeler, but "Ludwig Fessler" is a sidewheeler. There are some nice ships on the Chiemsee on their way...... http://www.chiemsee-schifffahrt.de/de/media/bilder-der-flotte/ Regards Gerhard
  15. Hi Carl I hope to be prepared for next things to do. Today I had some time to cut the frames from 4 mm plywood (boxwood), this is really hard to cut, tomorrow the frames will be cut to shape with the jewellers saw. Dont know how long this will take, but it`s not a race to the finished boat yet . Thank you all again for looking in Regards Gerhard
  16. The last days were filled up with "family affairs", so I had not too much time for the baby...... The cutout for the rudder axle socket is made, this was not so complicated as the long slash for the prop shaft. slashed to half thickness and reinforce plate glued on then turned around, cut the part full away, glue the second reinforce plate to the keel, and the cutout for the socket is there.. Next things to do will be sawing the frames, and build the frame and keel section. Thank you all for watching, and your many likes, comments a.s.o. Regards Gerhard
  17. Hi Grant She`s taking more and more shape, I like her! When it comes to the dashboard instruments, could you take some close up pics please? Would help me (and others!) to create them for the Bootlegger......... Regards Gerhard
  18. IF they come? I`m waiting every second for them ............. No wonder, when I`m having 6 open projects! (Danzig, Rigi, Cairo, tugboat Bison, Baby Bootlegger, and there was somewhere the Eppleton Hall waiting!) Well done so far, but I would have the bow a bit more smooth, that big crease down to the keel irritates me, will possible not be good for flow resistance........ Maybe you could fill it with some balsa wood and sand it to shape? Regards Gerhard
