  1. I think if you have some window cleaner with ammonia and soak it in that for overnight or something you will come out with a clean canopy. So clean in fact that you will have to start all over.
  2. So does that mean you are hanging up your white mad scientist lab coat?
  3. What a shame you had to pull the whole after deck. Are you going to try and reuse it or are you getting a new replacement?
  4. No Steven, the PROPER terminology is the pointy end and the fat end!
  5. I should hope to shout Mike. The cockpits came out fantastic! At last someone asks something I know a little about! Not much mind you but a little. If you have any, DIP the canopy in Future or Pledge Acrylic floor polish. This has the affect of almost making the clear parts of the plastic almost disappear! that should have the added effect of allowing your beautiful cockpits to be more visible.
  6. Congratulations EG. Can't wait to see it applied to the 104. Should make it shine! (Pun intended)
  7. That conversation may have to take the form of a seance at the rate I'm going! 😞
  8. It is strange that CA will not bond PE to plastic in your case as it is pretty much universally considered the recommended method for this kind of building as far as I know. For what it is worth I have had good luck with the Bob Smith line of Insta-Cure glues, using mostly the thinner blends. I also bought a couple of bottles of VMS Flexy 5K under a recommendation from a another modeler, but have not ran out of my Bob Smith glue so have not personally used it yet. It does have the added problem though in that it is only available from Poland and even before the present day mail logjam was somewhat slow in arriving. https://www.vms-supplies.com/flexy-5k-pe-product-overview
  9. I can assemble adequately, but I can see my limited painting skill level represented in my recent efforts and I need to go a long way in that area to even reach adequate. 😞 In the mean time I will try and learn as much as I can by closely following works like this and others. I do not have any immediate need for a polished metal finish on anything but I do have a couple of kits in stash that could benefit from the technique if I ever got to the point of building them.
  10. Good luck. You are already leagues beyond anything I will ever be able to do!
  11. Been needing a good old F86 build. Should be interesting.
  12. I am in no position to judge which shade of silver will look the best, (Where is Craig when you need him?) but it does look that using this technique it would be simple to do multi panel hues with some panels looking shinier than others.
  13. No kindness involved. Just acknowledging ability when I see it.
  14. I once got to spend an evening talking to an ex U-Boat commander from WWII but never got to talk to anyone from WWI.
  15. Had to look that one up. Looks like the gear my dentist was wearing when I went last week! Sounded like I was visiting with Darth Vader as well.
  16. Have a good time Craig, hope you find all of the family doing OK. Don't forget your mask for the flying sardine can part of the trip!☠️
  17. Nice work EG glad to see someone else work their way through one of the Eduard torture sheets. I think you did better than I did though. Congratulations
  18. I need to quit doing these things late at night. I meant to delete that post when i realized the decals were in 1/32 scale. The other ones I posted are 1/48th and less expensive as well. The kit Jack posted is available on eBay.
  19. Nothing like getting the actual information from the people who own the real ship! NO ONE can argue with that information. Thanks for thinking of it. Now I know as well.
  20. Remember OC, it takes a ground crew just to start the engines on a Mossie so they would always be there even if no actual work was being done.
  21. Speak for yourself EG! There is no help for me, just ask my wife or kids! Now we expect the same quality on this part of the build as before OC. No slacking!
  22. would these work? https://www.lfmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_39_40&products_id=990 https://www.lfmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_39_40&products_id=1085 Little on the expensive side but ?
